Is Székesfehérvár my new favorite city in Hungary?

So that was a wonderful trip to the city of Kings. really a tremendous afternoon in every sense of the word. In this video you will find a 35 minute adventure all around the most royal city in the Hungarian realm. And for many centuries it really was royal. This is a town that witnessed the coronation of every Hungarian king throughout the centuries. It was truly breathtaking to walk amongst so much history, and my only regret is that is has taken me so long to return. You know I actually did come here once before several years back - during the times of COVID - and ended up rambling for almost half and hour about the battle of mohács. Not that it was a bad episode, you can see for yourself here ( • 🇭🇺 The Massacre at Moh... ) but it probably would have been a more fitting topic in, well, I don't know, maybe Mohács :D
So we came back today to really see the town through a set of more experienced eyes (and hopefully less shaky camera work) and I have to say I really loved what I saw. We took a trip through the downtown to gallivant amongst some of the most audacious architecture in all of Hungary, before chopping it up with some locals at the famed Csitary fountain (uuu de bödös viz), before waltzing through Zichy liget, stopping off at the outstandingly ludicrous statue laden wonderland of the Bory Var. And after that it was a bus ride over to the Golden Bull memorial (a cheeky couple of glasses at a craftman's wine cellar) before rounding things off with the 1 .. 2 ... count em ... 3 punch of Petz, Marxim and the Árpád bath. All I have to say is thank god the train was late.
All in all a super outing!

Wow, you really have a good eye for hidden gems! You've shown many things I haven't noticed or seen in my almost 10 years I've lived in Fehérvár. You even found the antique 'főtengely köszörülés' (crankshaft refurbishment) plaque that remained from the socialist era :D

Isten hozott a szülővárosomban! Örülök, hogy felfedezed! A templom amit a 8'50-nél mutatsz a fehérváriak szóhasználatában a Ciszter templom, A sekrestyéjében életem talán legszebb fafaragásait ott láttam! A templom a 12'20 evangélikus (lutherien) templom! A kamerával lassabban légyszíves, elszédülök!

My birthtown. ❤ Next time you visit Székesfehérvár, you must see Pákozd - The old military museum, Dinnyés - Mini Castle park (Guinness world recorder), in the summer the lake Velence.😊

Golden bull - for some time a T34 tank was "chilling" there (as a monument) ... untill 1990 :) A csónakázó tónál akkor épp nem jártál .. de közel voltál hozzá , mert a savanyú víznél jártál !

Did you learn Hungarian when you were younger? I am American and I have a partner who lives in Hungary and his English is not very good and I'm finding it near impossible to learn the Hungarian language. It is just as complex as Chinese to me. I love your videos. You really are poetic and I love the way that your brain works. How much do you pay for a cell phone plan in Hungary? Do you have health and dental insurance there? How much is your apartment? How long did it take you to learn basic Hungarian language? I can't seem to understand even the most basic words and I've been studying for over 6 months.

Hungarian does not belong to any of the 3 major families of European languages so if you want to learn Hungarian you'll have to find a good teacher. You won't learn it on your own because it's logic, pronounciation and grammar is very different compared to other European languages. Prepaid sim cards are available from around 3 USD. Within Europe prices of calls are about 8 cent/minute or SMS. Apartment prices are depends on many things.

It is crucial to pronounce aranybulla with double l-s. Bula is something completely different.

Szeretett szülővárosom. Fehérvárt olyan történésszel érdemes meglátogatni, aki megmutatta volna neked a tényleg érdekes dolgokat. Elmentél mellettük, nem baj, majd legközelebb. Sajnálatos, hogy milyen lepusztult a Zichy-liget. Gyerekkoromban tele volt virágokkal és fákkal. Fehérvár belvárosi templomai nagyon érdekesek a Püspöki palotáról nem is beszélve.
