This demo still gives me the chills. This could be one of her best song if they stayed with this production. Justice for Witness. This song was ahead of its time. It doesn't sound like her other song, this was honest, not biased, up to date, different, huge hit. Curse to the person who leaked this.

I love her sleepy voice in here, even though I also love the album version, I have the feeling it's "too perfect". The way she sings the verses sound "too concentrated", while in this version her voice is floating, sounds like honey.

Omg la acabo de escuchar por primera vez desde el 2016, recuerdo cundo se filtró que todo el mundo enloqueció y se hizo tendencia mundial en twitter, porque Sonaba tan diferente y tan bien y porque Katy tenía un montón de tiempo sin sacar nada y Katy en ese momento estaba a la altura de comercial de Adela, witness estaba destinado al éxito pero su mala promoción fue lo que arruinó todo

No creo que haya sido tanto la promoción, sino por el cambio tan grande que hizo Katy en esa era, como hablar de política, colaborar con migos que en ese tiempo habían sido acusados de homofóbicos, y el cambio de look principalmente, todo eso no le gusto mucho a la gente, por eso no fue un éxito al igual que sus antiguos álbumes, la verdad witness tenía bastante potencial, pero Katy se apresuró mucho para hablar de esos temas.

this version is more raw, more personal for me, idk how to explain. the parts where there is no katy singing, makes the music more reflexive and interesting, like she's fed up of being all that things that industry wants her to be, and now she just wants to have some piece of mind, and her voice seems more tired as well, like she's tired of it all. and other thing that i love about this versuion, is that there is no whistle at the end, which i personally hate

I think maybe part of the reason witness did so bad was because she was trying to connect with her fans, and it ended up being a disconnect. the whole album doesn't feel relatable at all, and kind of like the cliche forced album every celebrity eventually puts out. but this version is so much better, and the calmer tone is much more relaxing and inviting
