So I watch a lot of the 48 hours show - best chance of catching a killer is if there is a lead in the first 48 hours blah blah. Anyway, I noticed that they do not ask for help identifying the perpetrator until they have absolutely no options left. Its interesting how once the victim is high profile, that all goes out the window. I don't think this has anything to do with the usual suspects crap. That's just another ploy to divide us. I think this is just police protocol vs how big profile you are. And that should upset all of us.

I wonder why the passenger didn't try to help or immediately start calling the police if he had a phone. I would have said that I'm recording this and if he came my way I would have been ready to defend myself and maybe the driver and I both could have tried to ward off the guy while the police was on the way but to sit and watch and do nothing while someone is being attacked is just ridiculous. The witness had a chance to jump the guy while he was trying to drag the driver off the bus 😢 If I idilly stood by and done nothing I watched a man assault and then proceeded to literally drag another man off the bus and into an alley and commence to stabbing him to death, I would be traumatized and in shock and would need real therapy because that's horrible watching someone being murdered and I know I did nothing to help. It's like the driver was murdered by a serial killer.

But the bigger problem is that Seattle has had a prosecuting attorney's office that will not prosecute; they literally throw out airtight cases, according to many police I've worked with. This started at least several years ago, and it didn't take long for criminals to find out that they can do whatever they want because nothing will happen to them. What we're seeing here is the fall out from that.

You have a leaking pipe, and instead of fixing the leak, you buy a bucket and put it under the pipe. The bucket overflows so you buy a new bucket and and swap it out with the old one. I don't know how transit drivers can do their jobs safely with the distractions they deal with. It really isn't clear from the speeches or the comments what people think should be done to increase safety for bus drivers other than raising the price of riding the bus to pay for armed security on every bus. Violence haopens in this violent world ruled by violent people promoting violence, no person of any profession is safe, but I don't see the CEOs making demands for more largely undefined safety measures. What do you all think should be done for bus drivers? And what about grocery store clerks, school teachers, the homeles, and any person out in public walking down the street who might be mugged?
