Some very unique comps Adam. I loved my time in the Quiver forest and I think that Namibia may be my favourite country! Big call I know but the landscape is so so stunning there. Also there is nothing in the world like an African sunset. How I wish I could go back but thank u for taking me down memory lane

This was a masterclass in shooting this area. I have seen videos of many different photographers in Namibia. They usually take one or two pics of the trees and move on to the next location. I have never seen anyone make the trees look so beautiful. Just beautiful work!

I love it, that you show so many photographs, even the ones, that you are not 100% satisfied with. As an amateur you see, that even the pros need some time to make a killer-shot. While watching some of the other KZbin-Channels one could get the impression that everything is just perfect …. Always 😃

So glad you discovered Quivertree Forest & Giant's Playground. I first went there when I was a kid and try to stay whenever I'm in Africa. I was lucky enough to be there after a rain storm and the colours were intense. There are many stunning landscapes in Namibia and the Kalahari which I think you'd love to photograph. There is a type of tree called the Camelthorn (Kameeldoring), which is as gnarly as you can get, especially when set against the desert landscapes. I can also confirm the snake story as I've photographed cobras trying to get into the social weaver nests to eat the chicks. It's entirely possible for them to lose grip and fall! There's a coastal town called Luderitz nearby which has very bleak landscapes which you might like.

Adam, Thank you for taking the time & effort to post this wonderful video and provide your setting for each image. Masterful photography! While the trees are so unique, I'm taken with the rock formations as well. Especially with the rocks stacked as they are in some areas. Questions -- What time of the year do you recommend visiting this area? Did you use your Kase filters in any of the shots? Again, THANK YOU for sharing the great images!

Hi Adam. Great adventure and great photos. My favourites are at the end, with this amazing red glow on the trees and the rest of the landscape. I like your videos for the calm and chilled out atmosphere, which is quite often reflected in your choice of music. I'm sorry Adam, but it is actually the music, that made me to write this comment : ) . The song starting at around 14 minutes is so beautiful... My question to you is - can you (are you willing to) share the artist's and song's name, I hope I can find it on KZbin. Thank you.

Have you considered a shift lens for forests Adam? I've been considering it, to avoid the leaning effect when pointing upward (which I usually try to avoid if it will create hotspots from the sky). Laowa might make one for the GFX but I'm not sure.
