We had a Silkie hatched some eggs a couple of years ago, one was a duck egg. This tiny chicken with her brood and a big yellow duck following her around. We named the duck Hei Hei, took her nearly a year to realize she wasn't a chicken. Hei Hei LOVED our roooster, Chester. She will go up to him and give him that "come hither" look and dance. She does have a male duck she hangs with but she hasn't forgotten her first love. Chester just looks at her like "No way Sister!!"

Hei, you never know. Roosters do *do* ducks! Seen videos. Gold Shaw Farm showed a couple of months back a rooster with a duck. She didn't seem to mind. Afterward, she went back to him to say "Hei! Hei!". True.

This video was a total treat! I love all babies but I admit baby Silkies are extra precious. My late Mother always wore a big bouffant hairstyle, it was her trademark look. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Just like cornbread, every southern cook has their own way of making biscuits❤️. Those look fabulous. I never have seen the fork trick before. I’m going to try that next time I make buttermilk biscuits. My Monticello Arkansas Granny taught me how to make her biscuit recipe. Her secret was to melt lard in her biscuit pan and dip and flip her biscuits on the pan, then cook them at 425• until golden brown. She usually finished hers off under the broiler to get the tops nice and golden❤️
