I never had a tarping machine back in the day. Now I don't pull flatbeds anymore.

Tarping is a pain in the ass! I tarped at Norfolk United States Gypsum Drywall Plant for 12 years before I was laid off.
@Tatsuwa949 жыл бұрын
we have something like this in ontario at CGC. but ours has 2 beams with wheels along each beam.. you put the tarp in the wheels and lift the tarp up.. The driver then pulls the trailer underneath the tarps and we lower them down. We also drop the front and back tarps instead of one at a time...

All drivers have a piss jug and they pour it out anywhere they can. Sorry for being so blunt, but Hey it is what it is. This is the main reason Walmart say's NO !! To drivers parking in their lot,, as well as all the other customer's we have. 1000 Thumbs up to you driver for telling the truth, !!! Best wishes to you and your's as well as ,, Happy Holidays !! +Juan Lara I just went with an older version that was less expensive. I am not into super high quality video and the most up to date models So I got the 3+ versus any of the newer models. They all pretty much work the same. My advice would be to go to the web site and see which models have the characteristics that meet your needs.

+Bill Ness: Machinery is used when the load is high, but if the load is low is not used, because it would be a waste of time,,,, whatever it spends equal work, down the tarp of the truck and open tarp on the floor,,,, when Dale Clay was teaching the e-log minute 3:37 of video, the person who was operating the machinery, was manually opening the tarp on the ground, such equipment is for safety, so that the driver does not rise above the cargo to manipulate the tarp when the load is very high

+stewnodd I have always found a place.. Even if it is at the shippers.
@mikemascow7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for explaining (at the end) WHY you had to use this machine...frankly, I'd have been on top of the load rolling my tarp out already! i have gone to places that make you wear the safety harness...more trouble than it's worth. But, I can see the point of the big company, need for safety, and, I appreciate it. It would be nice for them to make the shade 2x deep so truck in front can roll forward, still be under lights and cover of weather, bungee tarp, while truck in back puts tarp on. But, I guess that is asking too much. This is ONE of the many reasons I quit doing open flatbed, bought a conestoga trailer. After a while, even that got to be a PIA...strictly no-touch dry van freight now. It saves me great deals of stress as well as wear and tear on back, neck, arms, legs, knees, shoulders, wrist, forearms, hands. No more getting hit in the face, nose, teeth. Be safe.
@michaelbruce61902 жыл бұрын
My company is also in the process of switching over to Conestogas, tarping is the absolute WORST in the flatbed trucking industry side of things and after doing it for 23 years I say good riddance because it does take it's toll physically.

@ Y Mon I knew there had to be an easier way than I was doing,but I didn't have a second of flatbed training,I learned as I went hauling steel beam.Struggled threw like 3 months before I said I had enough of this.I found tanks to be what I like.Waiting for a pneumatic bulk tanker now local 5 day runs.Just did 3 seasons of liquid asphalt and they got rid of my tank,now their all vans.

Anyway, Have a great Thanksgiving bud and drive safe!

+Dustin Raines I used to take my guys to the "wall of pain" when I found piss bottles in their rooms in Iraq. Lazy fuckers couldn't walk 25 feet to the toilet... Our gunners were the worst because they had to use them during the day when they couldn't get out of the truck on patrols, so they just got used to it lol.
@dustinraines27359 жыл бұрын
Kevin Dye I know exactly what you mean bud! Guess 25 feet was to far lol! We had a guy in Iraq that wouldn't take a shower for the first month we was there and sleep in his uniform and would not change it and we were 15 feet from the shower. When we finally got him to take a shower it had to be a record shower because he would come back in about 3 min. It was awful living in a small area with someone like that.

I know a fella that used to work for CDOT here in Colorado. In the Summer when he mowed along I -70, he would hit the occasional " baby bottle" and get sprayed with a fine mist of rotten piss. That's the reason CDOT now has enclosed cab tractors for mowing.

I don't that those messy drivers would live in a gutter if they could, just that they wouldn't mind if they had to. when I saw tarping machine, I pictured something like the thing that wraps palletized items in plastic wrap. wouldn't it be interesting to pull the trailer onto a turntable and then tis big arm with tarp comes out as the table starts to spin..lol
