As a Lakewood, WA resident for 50 years, it always warms my heart to see local folk on prime time tv. Watching COPS every Saturday night as it premiered was our thing starting in 87 and carried on for decades, but every once in a while I'll see an episode on YT or a repeat on tv that I either don't remember or missed altogether. And in that almost 40 year timeframe, I only saw one person on the show that I knew.

Someone *can* be detained for suspicious activity, especially if it's a known drug area (and her movements aren't those of someone innocent)...and then she tried to "escape" (which is also not the reaction of someone "innocent"); throw in the fact she's a known user to the police (she's shown up previously, as others stated) and they've got several valid reasons to search.

I remember I was sitting in my car in front of carls jr. When this construction worker knocked on my window telling me to move my car. I was taking up to parking spaces. I moved my car over. That wasn't good enough for him. He wanted the spot. I was parked at. I refused. I started arguing with him and his coworkers. I then called my son who's a cop. My son told me to stop arguing with them. Itold my son. They were calling 911 to report I was drunk. My son said "mom you are not drunk. In a traffic stop. It takes a cop two minutes maximum to conclude you are under the influence. Anyway, I had to wait an hour for the other cops to show up. The ones that the construction workers called. The cops showed up. I told them it was all over a parking spot. The construction workers left their vehicles there and took off. The cop was furious. He told me to call them. If I needed anything. I found out the name of the construction company. Reported the employees to human resources. I didnt see them again.
