In this study, pastor JB Bond teaches on our purpose as seen in the words of Jesus Christ to His apostles before His ascension into heaven. The key verse in the Book of Acts is found in Acts 1:8
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
We hope you will see Jesus as a living Savior who rose from the dead and who commissions all believers with the purpose of taking the good news message of His death and resurrection to every corner of the Earth.

How do you know that Jesus rose on a Sunday ? And what scripture tells us to come together and worship on the 1st day of the week as Christians, and not on the 7th day which is the Sabbath Day ? Or has the Sabbath day been changed. Actual scriptural references please, and not some stories or made up theology!

John 20 tells us that the tomb was discovered empty on the first day of the week. Technically, the first day of the week on the Jewish calendar starts on "our" Saturday evening so He couldve risen then, but it's not a divisive matter either way. Early church tradition is what began the Sunday morning worship. The Sabbath has always been a special to and we are told to "remember the Sabbath". Has it been removed? No! Can we worship on Saturday? Yes! As a church body, we have no problems with worshiping on any day of the week. The Sabbath is and has always been a special day of "rest" that God modeled Himself during Creation. There has been debate over what "rest" is over the last several thousand years but to put it simply, it's a day made for man to rest, not man to burden himself with rules. So in summary Jesus rose on the first day of the week, Sunday worship is a church tradition, you can worship on any day of the week or all days of the week, and the Sabbath is a special day of rest.

@@stwbible My questions was because of the wishy washiness regarding Messiah’s crucifixion and resurrection, the Sabbath Day has largely been reduced to unimportant by Christians. I can even say, rejected by Christians. It is the 4th of the 10 Commandments which also seems to be unimportant to the Christians: calling THE ALMIGHTY’s Laws as a burden and not a delight . Regarding John 20:1, the women came to the tomb very early on the 1st day of the week, before the sun rose. Can we say that was around 5:30 am more or less. So for sure Messiah rose before that time. Could He have risen at the end of the Sabbath as the prophecy said 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the earth. ?

@@Eleazar1A2 Anti-semitism in the early church caused many of the divides with the Jewishiness of Christianity and some of those divides remain today, which is unfortunate. Since Christ's death and resurrection, Christians are not under the Mosaic Law. That's not to say it's not important. It's purpose is to reveal sin. Paul details this in Romans 3 "because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin". Jesus died on Passover. He's our Passover Lamb. His death was modeled in advance by this feast. This date falls on Nisan 14 as specified in Exodus 12:6 therefore it could fall on any day of the week. For Christ to have risen from the dead on the first day of the week and be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights, He would've had to be crucified on a Wednesday for all the events to fit. Again, this isn't a divisive issue but that's how it fits.

We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (See Moroni 10:3-5.) Www.comeuntochrist.org
