Witnessing to Jehovah's Witnesses

This was taken on 2/24/2012 in Fresno California. This was our first, and last video shot that night because security wouldn't let us film anymore. This is a typical conversation with Jehovah's Witnesses. Don't be deceived - when talking with a Jehovah's Witness you will use ALOT of the same words, with totally different meanings. Also, i got one of my scripture addresses wrong; can you guess which one?

I think that the JW kid did an awesome job with handling that situation. He clearly wasn't prepared to answer any questions. Since he wasn't armed with his bible I think for a young man to be that knowledgeable is wonderful. I respect that kid for talking to those men. He simply could have walked away and said nothing. He demonstrated his belief and knowledge and for that he should be commended. Thank you for sharing this video.

I respect the Jehovah Witness kid as well. Seems like a good kid. But the fact remains he's still going to end up in Hell unless he gets his doctrine straightened out. Christ was not a created being. Jesus, as he said in the Bible, I am the Truth, the Way and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me. He did it all on the cross, done finished. We have to trust that. As long as witnesses continue to believe that what Jesus did on the cross isn't enough they are practicing a false doctrine that will lead them to hell.

Christians do good works because they have already been justified freely by His grace by faith alone in Christ alone(Rom 3:28;Rom 3:24). The JW does work in order to be justified before God as a condition of meriting salvation. The Christian has been freed from the guilt of the law & sin(Rom 8:1-2;Rom 10:4) the JW is still under the curse of the law therefore they are still in their sins(Gal 3:10-11;John 8:24). This clearly shows that the Christian is a law keeper and the JW is a law breaker. The JW needs to come to the real Jesus for salvation.

I think that one thing we Christians need to remember is that Jehovah's Witnesses have their own Bible(New World Translation), with alterations made that censor the Trinity, Hell, and other various things their theology doesn't agree with. It was translated by a group of only five men who had no experience with Greek and Hebrew, meaning that our Bible is not the same as theirs at all.

Amazing young men of The Jehovah's Witness. I hope their ears are opened. They do have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with scripture, they are blind by the society. Can you imagine if they become converted to true Christianity by the power of God. Mighty young men preaching the good news of Jesus Christ the God man! This is a lovely conversation, very respectful of each other. The JW was extremely truthful in what he was saying and that is what he felt and had been taught. Works are very important to JWs . He said that preaching was part of the works that they are required to do. On the other hand we had the Christian stating that we are saved by God's grace and that works are not a requirement (in order to be saved) but simply a manifestation of our faith.

Bottom line with all cults or false teaching (JW, LDS, Church Of God) is that they always isolate scripture, always read out of context and listen only to what they have been taught, not doing they're own "Barean" search. I think the Watchtower religion is a cult and I do not believe their theology, but this young man's responses were really a credit to him. He admitted to not knowing some things, which is okay. No one knows everything. He was respectful at all times.

While I agree the young man was respectful, that was the *only* thing to his credit. The fact that he couldn't answer those questions is not okay by any means. If you're going to deny the deity of Christ and call the Trinity Pagan, you jolly well better be able to answer those questions. They were not that difficult. And did you notice how he completely misrepresented the Trinity doctrine? _"We do not believe in the Trinity, that there are three people and one person, the same person but all separate."_ No Trinitarian believes anything of the sort.

These Witnesses of Jehovah have maintained their integrity and displayed patience and respect in their answers to the questions put forward. This is not surprising as Jehovah's Witnesses are motivated by Love and don't preach in a competitive way. We all have the responsibility to make a personal choice. I happen to have a copy of the watchtower magazine entitled They shall know that a prophet was among them and it goes on to say... So does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to DECLARE things to come. these questions can be answered in the affirmative ( yes I guess ) Who is this prophet? This prophet was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ., known at that time as international bible students. Today they are known as jehovah's christian witnesses. Of course it's easy to say that this group acts as a PROPHET, it is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show? So the watchtower invites us to review their records and I did based on Deut. 18:18-22 so my question is Is the watchtower a true or false prophet of God? Moins

Ok first up. " the watchtower" is a magazine. Of course it is not a prophet. Secondly do you know the difference between "a prophet" and " prophesying" ? Show me one publication where it says the organization claims to make inspired utterances. They simply read the bible and let the bibles predictions be made known ,and, they have got the wrong interpretation in the past and have admitted it.

I actually take back my comment of that day because since then I did a lot of research and found that the Watchtower is not God's organization on this earth. Aways Smile I belong to no established church organization. After researching and listening to people on You Tube who sticks to the Bible I learned so much. Jesus is the way to go, He is the Truth, Way and Life. True Christians build on the 'rock' foundation of Jesus and we are part of His body which is the true church. There is so much deception going on I pray and ask for guidance everyday to be able to discern what is true and what not. Satan is the builder, if you will, of the churches today, you will be very fortunate to find a church who has a Preacher/Pastor that truly knows what he is talking about, sticks to the Bible and stay away from church doctrines. Hey Leonard, I am growing and learning every day. At the time that video was made, I never thought to bring the bible because: (a) i just never thought about it (b) no one ever suggested it (c) I had memorized a lot of key scriptures (at least for the basics of the gospel) and (d) my only bible's were very large. I have since obtained a small bible I take with me witnessing, that I now use. Thanks for your concern.

And one of the big problems that many people have is realizing that many other so-called non christians actually believe in Christ but since the word that they use for Christ is a seemingly unrecognizable version of Christ people assume and teach that they are teaching something different. Why people don't listen to God's Word, the Holy Bible? We are always trying bring in our own preconceived ideals to the table. God's Word is clear as day. It is what it is! If God said "Jesus is God, Jesus is God." That's all she wrote. He doesn't only state clearly and explicitly, He proves it! Two scriptures prove this beyond a shadow of a doubt: It is written, "IN the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) and it is written again, "And: 'You at the beginning O Lord, laid the foundations of the earth itself, and the heavens are the works of your hands." here is the pink elephant in the room for all you JW's who believe that these indoctrinated subjects did a good job: Jesus said you will be witnesses of me - Jesus said "Feed MY sheep" - Jesus said he was the way and the truth - every knee shall bend and every name shall call on the name of Jesus - Jesus said you would be objects of hatred on account of HIS name - You will sit before Christ on Judgement day - His is the voice you will hear in the memorial tombs and come out - all things have been subjected to Jesus - he has been given a name above ALL others...WHY are you calling yourself Jehovah's Witnesses when what Jehovah wanted you to do was to witness about his Son and that in turn, would bring Glory to the Father? When the bible speaks of Christ being mediator - you really just do not "get it". Please read John Chapter 6, and do so in a quiet room where it is just you, His word and do so prayerfully. If you are His own, God will draw you to His son. Reason on John 6:44: "No one is able to come to Me unless the Father Who sent Me attracts and draws him and gives him the desire to come to Me, and [then] I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day." This scripture should mean much more to you than "I need to be a Jehovah's Witness". It should speak volumes as to whom you truly belong - to religion, or to a relationship.

Works shows you have faith. The works don’t save you. Salvation is a free gift. You must have works. This shows you have faith. The Bible gives two evidence of Abraham And Rahab . Abraham offered his son . Rahab hide the spies. James 2:24 man is declared righteous by works and not faith alone. Abraham was not under law covenant . . James was talking about your faith being active. Having works like Abraham and Rahab. James 2:21,25 faith without works is dead. The bottom line is works shows you have faith.

I think 'government' means 'law' and the 'law' which is mystic represents 'Cause and Effect' or 'reaping what we sow'. According to my understanding, when the disciples asked Jesus where the Kingdom of God exists, he told them that it exists within them (us). +george thomson as Trinitarain I would agree with you not because I believe the Watchtower to be teaching truth but instead that most Christians do not know their faith. As a Christian I would have seized upon the opportunity to share that the word "other" is not present nor implied in the Greek that the actual text declares that by him (Jesus) "all things" were created in heaven and earth COL 1:15) rather than going as the Christian did : time, space and matter and then immediately switching to being saved by grace , its a gift of God. i say pick a subject work it exhaustively rather than hop-scotching through scripture without a bible. I although commend them on their efforts- as most Christians would not have gotten out to begin with. I am always impressed with the average Jehovah Witness though-as they are usually more prepared than the average Christian. I although believe the average Jehovah Witness is more prepared in false doctrine however.

+007bfitz you are so right. I think every Christian should take more time to learn why we believe what we believe. The Jehovah's witnesses and Mormons definitely make it a point to do this and that's how they get so many Christians to join them. I like to study apologetic teachings and reading my bible thoroughly. I would approach it as why can't a jw just come out and say what they believe. Why hide it until later. As a Christian we are not afraid to say yes we believe Jesus is Gods son and apart of God. Whereas they don't tell you off the bat that Jesus is Michael the archangel to them and the Holy Spirit is a force not a spirit called a him in scripture. I've been kicked out of bible studies and told that they didn't want to look at those scriptures that show Jesus is Jehovah God it's shocking how they changed from nice to mean. I wouldn't really mind but the fact that you have to shun friends or family when they no longer believe is horrible. That definitely tears apart families.

+george thomson you can preach without the bible because the bible says the Holy Spirit will bring all things to our remembrance. If the Holy Spirit speaks through him he doesn't need a bible to preach to that kid. But I know the average Jehovah's Witness does not believe they have the Holy Spirit in them. You have to be one of the 144000 correct? That's the deception of satan. He doesn't want you to be the full potential God had in store for you. If you are baptized and repent and declare that Jesus is your savior and lord you have the Holy Spirit too. Do not believe that lie! Just because it says that, does not mean that Jehovah Himself appeared, otherwise, why would He say that no one can look upon Him and live? To keep with what you believe, we have to conclude that Jehovah is lying! So what is it: we can see Him or we can't? But be very careful what you answer, because remember our Creator cannot lie? If I suffered from selective reading, there are many things I would do because I am only reading one part! I agree with you that satan wanted to be equal to God and so have no dispute with that, since it is plainly stated in the bible:D Jehovah indeed does not share His Glory. I am not slamming anyone, I am sorry that you feel that way. We all have walls to tear down, and if you read the bible it speaks about it all through it. When you "see" what is actually symbolic in the bible like every time it talks about a "temple" or "city" or "tent" in the bible it is symbolically referring to our own mind and bodies. Tearing it down and building it back up again because that is the way to understanding what is written. We have to tear down walls or we will never understand

My guess is that alot of Jehovah's Witnesses have watched and are going to continue to watch this video and therefore leave comments below as if the JW's proved these men wrong when in actuality these men were speaking truth and left the JW's almost speechless because they're beliefs do exactly line up to what the Bible says but I'm assuming to what the watch tower does, and the guy holding the camera made great points on salvation and how its not by works we are saved tho those will accompany true faith, but the point is that its thru faith by grace and not of yourselves and when you receive that it will produce good works not the other way around, where you save yourselves because of your good works( the law) So again great job to the men who witnessed to these JW's, and just a heads up just because there are comments supporting one argument or another about this video if there is a majority that says one thing that doesn't validate its truth....the Truth is revealed in the Word of God and what He has to say, not ANYTHING else, so read His Word and take everything you hear from someone else whether it be a pastor, friend, video, song or whatever...take it to the Scriptures and check if its true like the Bereans in Acts 17! The either/or question about faith or works is misleading. Salvation is a free gift which cannot be earned, but a person shows God by his works whether he is one who would show respect for that free gift. The bible shows that some will not receive that free gift because they show before hand that they would not respect it. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) God's word speaks of works that demonstrate repentance. (Acts 26:21) Imagine you were rich and wanted to give as a gift a beautiful home to someone who is poor and could not afford to buy it themselves. You go to a sheltered housing area and see someone who shows little respect for others and the property he lives in, but another you see shows respect to others and looks after what he has. Which of the two would you give that free gift to? Jesus showed that a person needed to demonstrate their faith by action. (Luke 6:46-49)

God job guys! BUT...you weren't out there with Bibles in hand?! You guys had a fair amount of verses memorized, but it would've been helpful to have taken this kid (these kids) to the verses they wanted to visit AND you could show them the ones that you were talking about when it didn't interrupt the flow of your points. Anyway, good job and keep up the god work. How funny that the first group were JW's and you got to tell them the truth of the Gospel. Poor kids thought it was simply the books. Then they resorted to the Kingdom. As grand as that will be, the Gospel, although related to God's Kingdom, is a display of God's love and restoration of mankind to Himself. You are saved by your faith in Jehovah and Jesus. But as was said when you learn what you are supposed to do (thru the commandments given) we follow these and these works prove our faith, not to boast, but to prove to Jehovah the faith we have in him. As regards the last part, we follow Jehovah's commandments as you follow your fathers rule. You obey your father to show him that you love him and respect him. We have a choice to do so or not to do so ; but there are consequences to not obeying.

Yes and no body is disputing this because the scripture clearly states that BECAUSE of Jesus which tallies in that he is the first born of all creation because obviously we could not exist before Jesus. This does not make Jesus God for it would read: I created all things - but it reads FOR HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED. Genesis 1:1 states accurately that Jehovah created everything. Have you never heard of deligation?

As I said before that our society does not prophets for they do not foretell the future ie Jehovah does not say: please tell the nations when and where this is going to happen. He relies on His servants reading His Word and discerning within those pages, when events will take place.

Sorry for the cutoff... didn't realize it was cutoff at the end till weeks later. Basically ended with me challenging them to read the bible for themselves without reading through the filter of the Watchtower Society's teachings. I told them to read the bible, and ask God to help them understand, and to ask the question "if all I had was this book without ANY outside influences, what conclusions would I come up with". I hope and pray they did that. I'd love to see them in Heaven one day.
