"time itself doesn't heal, you heal yourself with time." It's interesting to analyze. Especially given that line specifically. Because this song essentially tells the same story as wonder if you wonder from his 2015 album. If you listen to them back to back the big thing that sticks out is their tone where WIYW if very confrontative while weak is very somber and honest. Speaking on tone you can hear as though in the 2015 song he's still deeply in the midst of grief while in this one enough time has passed and he's accepted what happened and is just tying off loose memories. And I don't even mean that as an intentional creative writing thing, this is a real break up he went through. And you can see the process of grief start and end through those songs
