Thank you so much for your tutorial-it’s the best I’ve ever watched! I’ve watched many of your tutorials, and from zero, I now understand how dynamic pages work. Even though my knowledge is still minimal and my coding skills are very basic, I’ve learned a lot. May I ask if it’s possible for team members to edit their own details? Can we set it up in the collection permissions (members only) so they can update their information themselves? Thank you so much!

You're welcome! I'm glad it's been helpful and that you're understanding how dynamic pages work Yes, it is possible for the team members to edit their own details. In order for that to work, you want to use the manage item page and then set the collection permissions to members only so that they can update it.

@@kdc-m Thank you so much for the amazing tutorials! I’ve learned a lot from them. I was wondering if it’s possible to create a private section for each member list, secured with their own password. This way, if a visitor needs access to private information, the team can provide them with the password to unlock it. Also, would it be possible to update or change the passwords from time to time? Thank you in advance!

You're welcome! Sorry for the slow reply. It is possible to create password protected pages using the page settings that you can change from time to time or share with visitors. You can also create member only pages where each member has their own unique login. However, I wouldn't recommend site members sharing their passwords with visitors. That would give them access to the members account which could cause security issues. I don't know if that's exactly what you're looking for, but hopefully it helps!

Hi. Thanks for creating this video. Here is what I am trying to accomplish. Use a member sign-up form to collect company logo images and website urls. Then dynamically display the images in a repeater on the same page that contians the form. Ideally, I would like to be able to dynamically link the images to the collected urls as well. Initially, I had my data set settings to "read & write". When I did first preview I was unable to make entries in the form inputs. I changed data settings to "write". I was then able to make entries in the form inputs. As expected the form entries were populated into the CMS. I then edited the data settings, changing to "read & write". Now when I do preview, the form inputs are populated with the previous entries on page load. How do I prevent the previous entries from appearing in the form inputs? Time stamp: 27:13. Automations. You are showing edit of automation. When I navigate to automations in the dash board I did not see any for the form I just created. Does that mean I need to use "+ new automation" and set it up?

You're welcome! I just tried out the example you mentioned about the member sign-up form to collect company logo images/URLs and then display them dynamically on the same page with a repeater. I was running into the same issue you mentioned. I can only get the form to submit when the dataset is set to "write" and that makes it so the repeater doesn't work correctly. I was able to get it to work if the form and the repeater are on different pages however. So that might be a possible workaround in the short-term. I had the form dataset set to "write" and the repeater dataset set to "read". I'll keep testing it to see if I can get it to work on one page somehow. As for the automation, yes. I would create a new automation that sends you a notification every time your custom CMS form gets a submission. The trigger will be CMS for a custom CMS form. You can also set more than one automation if necessary.

@@kdc-m Thank you for your time & effort regarding this issue. Not sure if I am clear on what you accomplished regarding the repeater on another page. Were you able to use the images as a link ? Or you just displayed the url in the repeater?
@kdc-m21 күн бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, you can use the images as link in the repeater. You just sent the click action for the image to the url field in your dataset.

While following those exact steps, my text fields are stuck as a read and write with no option for just write. When I add information and submit it to CMS the field will display the most recent submission. Any ideas?

My guess is that is has to do with the collection permissions found in the permissions & privacy section of your collection. Wix recently updated how those work and it broke some of my existing forms I had created in the past. So I would check that first to see if that helps at all. This article from Wix explains how and when to use each setting. support.wix.com/en/article/cms-working-with-the-dataset-mode-and-collection-permissions

hello bro wonderful and helpful tutorial thanks a million. I notice that every time you click on the section button you have a prompt to choose a starting point (designed section, grid layout, add an element) witch is not like this on the default Wix Studio, how do i also enable it to be like yours?
@kdc-m7 ай бұрын
Thanks! Glad you liked the tutorial. I actually don't know how that got enabled. It just showed up one day. My guess is that they are rolling that out to all users soon, but doing a phased release to gather feedback.
