GM Baadur Jobava's tournament win at the 2017 Xtracon Open was only partly Shakespearean. It was played in Elsinore, Denmark, home of "Hamlet." But it was far from a tragedy. Instead, Jobava produced a few moves almost as memorable as that quotable play.

This a rare way to mate with just a mere pawn and bishop. Nice creative thinking simply majestic. I did this opening once in chess.com and was curious to check it out as reference and saw this epic play

14. e5 is so much stronger than BxBd6. All of Shorts pieces are now on the wrong side of the board an look totally out of position. Nigel's king ends up being smothered by whites pawnshop whilst his pieces are unable to rally to the rescue. Nice mating pattern.

Are there any chess puzzles in which it is best to promote a pawn to a bishop? I have trouble trying to think of a good use for that.
