Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for a lot more content on Wizard of Oz land, such as an opening day Vlog, where we have an in depth look at the whole land. 🌈

I liked that part with painted studio walls, that was the best part. It was also 99% of the theming so there wasn't much else to choose

Based on video and reviews i think dreamworld gets the W this time. The queues look good for one room then there bland. Also i believe they are saying the land cost $100 mil to cover up the management getting a bigger salary (no wonder passes cost so much now) either way the land just doesn't have the same level of passion rivertown does. P.S does the rainbow at the beginning remind anyone of the rainbow serpent at dreamworld?

I’ve been waiting all day for this video and although the rides seem cool the theming could’ve gone further
@Ybluke2813 сағат бұрын
This isn’t a full walkthrough, there’s more theming in the queues that’s really good. You can find photos online or other videos. Not sure why he put full walkthrough. The theming for the queues was fantastic (besides the ending). Then they had 2 new shows on in the area plus somewhere over the rainbow.

My thoughts too. Certainly not bad by any means and definitely better than anything else theyve done, but compared to rivertown it looks a bit sad

Not a bad effort Movie World but a long Second behind Dreamworld with the finish and presentation in Rivertown being World class.
@ficeds492211 сағат бұрын
With that being said movie world has like triple the rides dreamworld does
@claytonfisher415510 сағат бұрын
@ficeds4922 movieworld currently has 16, 17 if you count scooby that has been closed for 2 years now. Dreamworld has 22 rides.
@boydenhingston-muir39072 сағат бұрын
@@ficeds4922 They have exactly the same number of rides. 23.
@russellatwell784Сағат бұрын
They may have more rides but what lm talking about is the standard of not only the ride itself but the attraction as a whole, Warner Bros did have a couple of world class attractions In Loney tunes river ride at Movie World and Bermuda Triangle at sea World but sadly these attractions are no longer there Wild West Falls has the potential but is looking very old and tired so let’s hope Scobby Do does it. Dreamworld if you look at the River town area as a whole the theming finish and presentation is off the standard you would see at a Disneyland or Universal Studios but although very good l cannot say the same in regards to the land of Oz, the rides themselves are good but the rest unfortunately is not the same standard as Dream Worlds River Town.
@ficeds4922Сағат бұрын
@ yea I get that but movie world costs definitely far out weigh dreamworlds with all the rides and attractions they have I mean dream world spent like 30 million on that one ride alone movie world would be more likely to spend that amount on multiple rides

Very underwhelming. Dreamworld wins by a mile this time. There were moments of good theming here but there so much left untouched. And this is not a land, it’s a small cramped courtyard with some paint on the walls. Very disappointed when we went today. Love your content though! Thank you!

I feel honoured to have been one of the first riders of Flight of the Wicked Witch and to have been able to visit the park on the precinct's opening day. I remember watching Arkham Asylum being demolished, and to now have this wonderfully themed precinct open feels so surreal. Rushing through the immersive rooms to get to the first ride was absolutely surreal. I haven't visited Rivertown yet, but I found most areas to be themed gorgeously. I rode Flight of the Wicked Witch once at the start of the day in the back row, and it was an extremely smooth and surprisingly forceful experience. I also rode Kansas Twister about 5 times getting on both sides of track. My only wish is that the outdoor queue lines had shade. I also enjoyed seeing a lot of familiar locals, including staff having days off and Shane from Jaggs Journeys.

Managed to pop in at around 4 30. It’s a good land I will admit, but it just doesn’t live up to the hype. Granted I didn’t get a chance to ride FOTWW or KT, so I’ll have to come back and try those, but from what I could see when I went to Rivertown, dreamworld takes the win on this one
@paulforbes68913 сағат бұрын
Totally missed opportunity, with the way Harry Potter world transformed Universal Studios Florida, given Warner Brothers own the movie rights they could have built Diagon alley and other elements from a more relevant franchise known to current generations, who on earth sanctioned this ? Wizard of Oz?????

Yeah they dropped the ball with this one, whilst it’s good having more rides to help with crowds, the landscaping and theming is underwhelming compared to Rivertown. Dreamworld get a massive dub with this one

Great execution of theming leading into the land with the rainbow archway and the whole plaza (?) area. The Emerald City building is fantastic, and the queue room is very immersive with the talking Wizard. Great to see the characters out and about in the land, hope that's something that will last beyond the opening. That being said - the land is about a 5-minute look around of some lifeless facades and then you go into the ride building. That's it. Could there not have been a shop, or a cafe, even a food stand? Something that could occupy people's time in a park that is already over-crowded with long wait times. There's also no seating anywhere for people to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. People were just sitting on the ground. And could there not have been something interactive on the Munchkin houses for the kids, like you can knock on the doors or hear people inside? Just something to make the land less of a decorated concrete square. Going through the Munchkin house I thought there would be something cool inside. But it's just ride photos and then the... back of the park!? Guys, remember in the film when Dorothy followed the tarmac service road and came across the Tin Ute? Must've been in the books. Such a let-down when everything else so well-themed before that. Grey buildings, chain fence, and a toilet block. Woo. I REALLY hope the rides are good because that must be where they've spent the money.

Honestly it’s all rather pathetic. Individually some aspects are neat, but the overall product just isn’t good. They didn’t even bother to make a solid wall to hide the maintenance roads. There’s no contest between this and Rivertown.

Wow the bare concrete with no shade or seating... that's gunna get real uncomfortable real fast. And unshaded queue areas? In Qld summer?? Just irresponsible, really.

Thanks for capturing this on opening day! I was keen to see what this looked like, with it being such an iconic property, but alas it's quite lacklustre. Walking down into the dead end land has so whimsy at all with all those blank white warehouse walls, and then once you're in the themed area it's just a corrugated iron courtyard amongst warehouses with nowhere to sit, buy a themed drink, get merch, etc. very odd... Can't really enjoy the space. I do enjoy the thematic music and that lovely rainbow entrance section, plus the munchkinland area is cute (Though the painted sky sections bring down the whimsy), and the Emerald city entrance looks nice. Some small tweaks could easily improve the area, such as putting a cart or two in the blank green corners to sell treats and such, add some bright lush flowers into the planted areas (not the sad $5 ones there currently), replace some of those giant raised flowerbeds with benches instead, and perhaps drape some Oz-branded tapestries over the expansive green walls to break them up and add some texture.
@kingdelbert9 сағат бұрын
Yeah the area as a whole looks underwhelming. I'm sure the coasters are ok and meeting some of the characters for sure is great, but it just doesn't feel well themed. Just a bunch of IP thrown in
