Hello Mr. Ahoy. My question is about the casting time of the skills and the damage they deal. Most people prefer short cast time skills (cannons or lances). But when we calculate the damage and the amp we see that even for single target "Transcender" skills hits much higher. To calculate I divided the attack power of the skill by its casting time and increased the damage of the skill according to the amp. I mean for flame cannon for example the output damage is "(232/1.7)*%85+232". And if we calculate "Multiple cannon" with the same formula, we see that multiple cannon has much more damage. Why do you prefer shot cast time skills? What am I missing here? Or is my calculation missing?

Ahoy! I think what you missed is the fact that your own stats (m.attack, magic amp) also affect the damage of the skill. So after a while your character becomes strong enough that the amount of matt/mamp the skill adds is much lower compared to your own stats, and therefore you won't see such a huge difference in damage between skills. For example in my case in some dungeons lances hit up to 50-60k with criticals, and the strongest skills don't deal more than 5-10k more damage. In this case it's really worth using lances instead because their DPS is so much higher.

Cause when u calculate the damage and cast time of the skill even if you count in your own magic attack and amp still higher level (trans skills I mean) should deal higher damages. because my own attack and amp apply to higher skills too as the same amount. I think there is somethnig in the calculation that we don't know about. otherwise, my way of thinking is correct. What you explained doesn't quite explain the situation. The reality might be as you explained. But the theory is not actually :) Maybe the difference comes from penetration, or every skill has a hidden effect except what is explained in the skill tree. I don't know. But I'm sure you tested it yourself so I will trust you. By the way, there are some new skill at completer and transandence skills. So you might want to change the last part of the video (about the skill you use for aoe) :P. Thank for the explanation by the way!

hello. i really like ur videos about wizards and game in general. got one question (for noobs). i got a lvl 190 fs with 1500AA... i really..and always liked wizards..but i always thought u need alot of alz to even create one.. so i was wondering.. is it worth to start a wizard? even if fs items are binding? (except sword/crys/epaulet/bof+7/belt of fighter+7 )... i know fs has the bonus rate and dmg but... i feel as a wizard is more fun..and more party time !! ... but one question... can it be a funny class.. if i dont get even moderate gear..? like.. maybe i wont have 50% rate on wizards..is it playable..?

Ahoy! Yes, you probably need around 10 times more alz to get to the point where you are now with FS. But if you do, you'll be dealing twice as much damage probably. If you do start a WI, you won't be able to use any of those items, so you'll have to sell everything and start anew. Critical rate is essential, and no matter which character you choose you won't be able to farm anything above IC1 without more than 50% rate. But if you're really on a budget, orbs and helm with 8% rate as craft options aren't that expensive, and you can still put 20% crit damage in their slots. It would be good for a start and you'd be able to reach around 60% that way.

Hardness was merged into Force Increase, so now it's called Force Hardness or something like that. Sharpness was removed from WI something like 7-8 years ago, now only FA can use that (and it was also merged with other buffs).

Ahoy! Yes, BL is still the best at killing single targets (bosses, mainly). They really suck in ECA and dungeons like that, where there are a lot of monsters to kill, since their BM3 hits have decreased damage if they are hitting more than 1 target at a time. WI is also pretty good for PVE. WI undoubtedly has the best area of effect in battle modes as well as with single skills. However, whereas BL usually has no problem surviving, WI needs awesome gear and a lot of HP steal to stay alive in... pretty much any serious dungeon.

Thanks! Glad you like them :) And yes, in my opinion attack rate skills are worth it. They made every dungeon run I'm doing so much smoother when I don't have FA buffs. I remember before I had learned them, it took me well over 10 minutes, probably even 15 to solo IC1. After I did so, my runs were 2-3 mins faster. Of course that was a long time ago, but it's just an example. Since then I haven't even considered the other skills, only attack rate!

I'm not sure there's anything at all a WI can do against FBs other than run away before you're unmoved.... or get crit rate resist items and survive long enough to run. Silence can be useful to win 4 more seconds if they use AOC on you.

Hp, def, def rate, att rate, mattack, crit dmg, dmg reduction, hp steal, hp steal limit, the 3 stat runes, ignore pene and alz drop amount (temporarily replacing mp steal). As for blended, the PVE version of mattack, magic amp and defense (all lvl 1).

This was so helpful! I have one question. Im transcender, and i think it doesnt matter what u are. But u seem really known by this game. Im a tenacender warrior and I want to use overwhelm which requires transcender 105. And Somehow, it doesnt matter how many quests I do, I still cant use it yet. How do you best utilize the BM2 of the Wi? Should auto-attack be on?

Yes, if auto attack is on, the 2 skills will be cast at the same time, otherwise you'd have to manually cast them one after another and it slows down your attacks. Also, you need auto attack on to use elemental festival special skill together with your other attacks (How to use Elemental Festival: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ2yon6veJeaqa8 )

Generally, you should get crit damage and rate from weapons and helm, amp from boots, and amp+mcr from suit and gloves. Check out my "How to build your character" series , it might help you answer any further questions and go into more details.

In that case, WI or FG. FA's damage is just terrible, but I'm not sure if FG can outdamage WI in BM3. All in all I think WI has the best damage if we consider how awesome its BM2 is compared to other classes.

What level are your combo skills? Cannons and lances

Everything is lvl 20, since those are pretty much the only skills I'm using. Since the making of this video my character has grown stronger and I'm doing mission wars more often so I'm basically only using lances now - all with a range of 8 or 9 at lvl 20.

Up to you. The previous few updates added a few items that had sources of HP (like chaos upgrade on earrings/amulets, force wings, etc...), so I found that a bit more def rate was more welcome for me.

Ahoy! Well, I've recently made a guide about leveling up characters, if you can call it a guide. Might wanna check it out, maybe it helps a bit :) Other than that, always try to keep your distance from everything, use skills with stun or BM3 fatal with knockback when a crowd is moving towards you and blink away before they reach you. Maybe get a partner for ECA farming or join some bigger parties in there during EXP bonus events? I can't really think of anything else all of a sudden :/

Oh I misunderstood your question.. back in the days when that video was made, you had to complete the battle style up quest of lvl 20 to reach apprentice skill rank, 30 for regular.... and 100 for transcender. So if you press C now you can see BL rank 18 or so. In the skill window it only mentions what grade you must be to advance in your skill rank. In the previous update (EU reckoning) they removed that limit so now you can become transcender at lvl 1, therefore the requirement remains 1.

Ahoy! Max everything if you're playing on some official server. You will have enough skill points for it. If you're on a private server, with episode 8 or so then you may want to ask around people on your server.

UPDATE: for 2017 - new transcender skill Since this video was created before those skills were added, here are the updates: AOE combo: Multiple cannon, Glacial trap, Meteorite, [filler] (Filler: Either put Extreme Dual Cannon here if you want the biggest AOE possible, or put Earth/Fire cannon to win enough time for the other skills to cool down) A few months after this video, my single-target combo changed too. WI has the highest possible magic attack in the game, so lances of expert skill rank are likely better in terms of DPS. That is especially true with the 2019 update that brought some rebalancing to classes and greatly increased the base damage of wizard: Terra lance, Fire lance, Aqua lance, Freezing lance, Wind lance, Magic lance They also have the same amount of casting time which makes combo very easy to do :) For PVP: Single target - lances only, multiple targets: same as AOE combo in PVE For targets with lots of defense, damage over time is the best in PVP - that means: Multiple cannon, Glacial trap, Extreme Dual Cannon and Acid Trap. - Note: damage over time effect has been decreased in wars since the video was made so acid trap is no longer that useful unless you're literally hitting your target under 500 damage per hit.

Actually, the video was made before that episode with the new skill. However, it has the same AoE as Extreme dual cannon, and the highest damage of every attack skill a WI can have, so it's ideal for BM2, and your AoE combo. In PVP against opponents with high def it's also pretty useful due to the damage over time effect. I added a note to the video, thanks for the notice!

I just use 6 lance skills for both due to the piercing effect. For AoE PVE, I use the skills between G.master and Transcender (except for space collapse).

Just use your strongest skills. Casting time is the same for everything in BM2, so it doesn't matter, just make it strong :D

The formula goes as : HP steal limit / damage = HP steal % Damage should be your non-critical hit in the dungeon where you want to survive. So for example if you have 150 HP steal limit and hit 3k with BM3 A/B skills, it's 150/3000 = 0.05 --> 5% HP steal is needed to cover your limit.

Try combo with lances from regular skill rank: terra lance, fire lance, aqua lance, wind lance, freezing lance and magic lance. But that only works well against 1 target, or a few targets in a straight line. Cannon skills from expert skill rank are similar, but they hit things around your target, not in a straight line. But in BM2 just use the strongest skills because the casting time will be the same.

In my opinion, get enough STR and DEX to be able to wear your armor and orbs, and put the rest to INT.
