Little fun fact, the crit block mechanic with multi-hit or overtime spells got reverted a long time ago. so if you block one part you block the entire spell again. they reverted this once they made crit add damage and block reduce the total damage multiplier of crit. so its been 2-3yrs pretty sure. it just shows the block animation each time because the dots/ 2nd hit seem separate like old minotaur or orthrus but since its all part of the same spell it only needs one block animation, i assume the extra animations are for clarity.
