Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Orlando vs. Hollywood

I only want to Hollywood and it was so magical but from what I’ve seen there’s a lot more food in Florida (from what I remember there were only two restaurants in Hollywood) and there are just two Harry Potter themed rides which kinda sucked Bc that was the only reason we went to universal... I wish they made the wizarding world a stand alone theme park with all parts included (hogwarts, diagon alley and hosgmid)

Having an entire theme park would be the best, I would hope it would be pretty much near anywhere and then so many more people would get to experience the wizarding world (I have only been to Hollywood also, I hope to move to Florida when I am an adult)

AH ! The theme parks I love them and have so many great memories especially Florida .I could go on forever tallking about my favourite rides but I won't go on too long ! I first went to Florida for my 18th birthday and my parents 25th wedding anniversary so it was a double celebration,my brother and sisters were a bit jealous as only my Mum ,Dad and I went) way back in 1992 .My jaw dropped at everything I saw and my eyes were wide in amazement as over here in the UK the theme parks don't compare .So many of the great rides have gone since those days ,Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies , Murder, She Wrote Mystery Theatre, Back to the Future: The Ride,which are all now gone . At least universal still have the Universal's Horror Make-Up Show one of only two original attractions from the park opening in 1990 . I have been lucky enough to have holidayed in Florida many times since then .I would happily spend the rest of my life living in Disney world :) .My wife and I were married at Cypress Gardens (now LegoLand) back in 1997 . The last time we were in Florida was at xmas 2013 our first time to visit Florida at Christmas and it was wonderful with all the decorations and nice to get away from the cold weather of England . I was really excited to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it lived up to my expectation ,the same team who made the sets for the films built that part of the park .They were a bit crafty with a couple of the rides which I had been on before as they were formally know as Duelling Dragon (now Dragon Challenge) and Flying Unicorn (now flight of the Hippogriff) long before HP world so I had already rode them back in 2004 on our last visit .But Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was fantastic and the castle was great too as was Hogsmeade with the snow capped roof which felt a bit strange in the Florida sunshine .I can't wait to go back and see Harry Potter London as when we visted they were still in the process of building it on the site of the Jaws attraction . We visited California for the first time in August 2014 the parks were brilliant and it is great that Universal is a working studio (I was thrilled on the backlot tour when we drove past Alfred Hitchcock's old office ) sadly for us they were still building the HP attraction so we couldn't see it .The closeness of the two disney parks in California is great no need for a monorail or driving between parks like Florida . So for the long post :)

The Cranky Collector Woah! That's a brilliant history you have with theme parks! I sincerely hope you get to Diagon Alley soon, as there is nothing like it. It's understandable that some rides have to be taken away, but Back to the Future hasn't dropped in popularity. I wish I'd been able to see it. I've only been to the Universal Studios parks, but my sister says she wants to go to Disney in California for her graduation… she's 25, so I guess Walt did well with the magic of his parks. :)
