The only gripe I have with this scene is that the Ministry had placed a charm on anyone that said Voldemort's name in this film since that was the easiest way to locate people that were actively disloyal to him. I think it also like, brought the school itself to life. The castle itself had chosen a side, in a way. I have a weird theory that only a teacher or student could have activated the statues that way. Like, the school will only let itself be used to protect the students. If a Death Eater had tried it, it wouldnt have worked.
