Max Russo deserves better, he was always seen as secondary to and less than Alex and Justin. So for a spin-off, Max should be more important to the story. He should find people who value him, like Alex had with Harper/Mason, and Justin had with Juliet/Zeke

A Wizards reboot WON’T work if Disney Plus doesn’t take the risk of making it TV-14. The wizard world they built has potential to do more with less restrictions. The show can still have that nice balance between drama and comedy. I think if they do this, the show can be like Disney Plus’s version of Stranger Things and Wednesday

That would be fun! Also, Alex’s birthday is in 2 weeks. She will be 30 years old. Not to mention, 5 rising freshmen will be attending Music Support Group Academy in Turtle Creek next fall. Alex is in the middle of her 3rd set of journal entries.

A continuations/revival would be like what iCarly is doing now, same name and we are still with the same old characters, and has the same girl with a web show premise. This should be would more of a spin-off since it does star a new main character Adin, not Alex Russo, and does have a new name and new premise (since it’s not about siblings learning magic then competing, but season 1 is about ex-wizards learning again then competing against each other). And this show wouldn’t be a sitcom like WOWP, it’s more story driven and has more drama

I like that “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” has Billie starring in the role. I think the show could benefit from a brother/sister dynamic as the leads. And showing different generations of wizards. I feel the show “Stranger Things” is a good frame of reference, it’s something for adults, teens, and middle schoolers, everybody can watch and see themselves in a character. I feel like Disney is losing that teen and adult audience, closest they had to it was Descendants, which was kinda for everybody. I think Wizards being put on Disney Channel and being made by the Raven’s Home writers is kind of holding it back (even though I enjoyed Raven’s Home seasons 5-6). Wizards is a completely different kind of show, it’s a shame the writers are not a part of it, their writing was so unique, I fear this new series might give basic…however I guess we’ll have to wait and see

Alex and Max don’t seem like they’d be married with kids. Most reboots give their main characters that, but the only one I see having that is Justin (with Juliet of course). Justin is professor of Wiztech, so they can add new characters that way!

yeah I made this video a year before the new series was announced, in the actual Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Justin gave up magic because of a mysterious incident at wiz-tech, and is now living a normal life with his wife and 2 sons.

I would love to see Megan resolve issues with her brothers and to see Stevie get her powers back and get the apology she deserves. Justin doesn’t deserve his powers!

I agree, Jerry, Aunt Megan, and Uncle Kelbo have issues that need to be addressed more. Megan was a lot more justified than they made her seem. Stevie definitely deserves some redemption. Justin was often very selfish and hostile (especially in season 4), he was always either blaming/accusing Alex for something bad or being jealous of her success. But I’d like to look at Justin more three-dimensionally. I think the Wizards movie explains his perspective well, he works so hard and gets so much praise from his family but then Alex comes along and finds a clever solution to their problems. While Alex was constantly compared to Justin, and treated as if her personality wasn’t wrong. While Max was treated like he was stupid and couldn’t live up to either of his siblings. All of them were kinda victims of their circumstances. Alex was able to rise above it and win the competition. Justin seems to have a lot of problems he needs to deal with, constantly belittling his siblings. And Max just needs people who support and love him in the same way Alex has Harper and Mason, so he could reach his fullest potential!

I consider the High School Musical The Musical The Series show a hit show 🤣

That show is relatively popular, but I think it misses the mark in some of the things it wants to do. For most break out shows/movies, they have to have an intriguing premise and a down-to-earth overarching theme. Like the original HSM movies were about a basketball jock and a brainiac wanting to do a musical, with the overarching theme being to break free from the status quo, you and others have set. Or like in Stranger Things, the entire season 1 premise and theme revolved around the love the boys, Joyce, and Jonathan had for Will, along with the boys giving Eleven the love she needs, it teaches about staying a kid at heart. HSMTMTS a great premise of them putting on a production of HSM at their high schools along with, a guy joining the musical to win his ex back. With the overarching theme being about found family, it the premise goes against that since Ricky was trying to home-wreck, so he can’t really be friends with EJ (or Ashlyn) much without it feeling forced/inauthentic. So the show sorta tossed EJ aside in some ways (despite his perspective being understandable), and the premise was put away with entirely when putting Ricky and Gina together. Then it was rushed to put Ricky and Nini back together, which ended up being a step back for the both of them, and made the found family aspect feel ruined. They sang Breaking Free, but didn’t break free from anything, so it looked like a big moment…but it fell flat. A lot of the uses of the music were poorly done. Like when Troy and Gabriella sang What I’ve Been Looking For, it represented their relationship. But when EJ and Nini sang it, they used it as a moment to show off how mad Nini was at him (which wasn’t taken as seriously). The music should enhance the story, not hold it back

I’m glad they’re doing it, Wizards of Waverly Place is one of those shows that I think could work as a reboot. I just wish it wasn’t on Disney Channel, and was gonna be a more mature version on Disney Plus. I have some critiques of their idea though. They have Justin giving up magic in the beginning and that just doesn’t seem in character in my opinion. And I think they could’ve done a lot with him being Professor of Wiztech and the authority he has to cause changes in the wizard system

@@growingupwithdisney yea I wanted this to go the iCarly route and we see Justin and Alex as mature adults navigating life in their 30s as wizards. Maybe have Alex be like the cool fun aunt who is helping train Justin's kids to be Wizards or something like that. Since it's going to Disney Channel, I'm assuming this show won't be for the fans who grew up with the original who are now adults and this will be too kiddish for my taste. It should be on Disney+. They would have a really popular show outside of Marvel and Star Wars which both suck now lol

I want them to eventually abolish the whole family wizard competition, it’s NOT fair and they shouldn’t make siblings compete. I genuinely think the Wizard World that WOWP built has potential to genuinely be Disney’s new Star Wars and Marvel (since people are getting sick of those now). They just need to take more risks in their programming. Nobody watches Disney Channel sitcoms that much anymore, and nobody wants to watch a kids show as much either. They need to keep up with the times, use Disney Plus to their advantage, and they could have their very own Stranger Things. The new Percy Jackson series is the closest to it, but even that plays it safe in a lot of ways.

Okay, so while you make some good points, the problem is that the original writers never really put much thought into what the lore of the show should be. They were partially just making things up as they went along and the Wizard competition was just there to give things a sense of drama. If anything we can't argue that it was unfair because we do not know why it was there in the first place.

I do agree with that, so that’s why I think the show made sense for what it was. But thats why a spin-off seem necessary, since there were things that the show could expand on now. That’s why I didn’t go with the typical idea others have where Alex or Justin have kids now, and teach them magic. I wanted to go further with people who already dealt with the competition. My main focus is mostly how the competition and the family dynamics can affect the characters. Specifically Max since he was often disregarded, and to give him friends and a love interest like how Alex and Justin had Harper, Mason, Zeke, and Juliet. I think seeing the affects the competition and the way their families greet them has on their life can justify whether or not it was unfair (I personally think it was)
