Wizards Prints More Eternal Masters?!?!

Rudy was saying recently distributors are sitting on EMA and MM 2013 and stuff and never sold it to stores like the chain of product flow is supposed to go. Now that Wizards has been exposed for not holding distributors accountable, they felt the need to put out more supply. That's my guess

Rudy, wolf of magic guy, released a video not too long ago about something like this. Someone from one of his district utors leaked him a photo of multiple pallets that the distributor recieved but never offered to sell. They were just sitting on them. Who knows why. To create an artificial shortage and then dump for higher margins? Because of instructions from Wizards? People can only speculate as to why. How much were Distributors charging before?

Wasn't there a lot of people saying they need to do more print runs of these to stop the mark up. They don't make money off of the secondary market so as long as they trickle these sets out it means money for them without angering too many collectors off. Maybe this will be a new trend, only way to find out is to wait for the next modern masters and give it another 6 months and see if they release a second batch.

Can you really lose at 125 each? It's still a premium product. You should be able to move any that you order, even if it's a minimal markup, you'd churn though volume at least.

I would be happy to buy a case of these at the $150-170 price range. I dont know what your costs are when it comes to shipping a case like that. but I get the feeling it would be a decent little shot in the arm for the store around Christmas time to move through a good quantity of boxes at $40-$50 each. I'm sure you could probably get more out of each box. but if the number is that high and the demand will move the product, you are essentially being paid to break down the product, repackage and reship. still a good bit of cost in doing that but compared to the amount of time and worker hours invested to sell the other products in your store I could see it being great. you could then also have a few boxes at reasonable prices for a while. run some awesome Ema drafts.

Many are annoyed at this, seeing it as a cash grab. Listen, I get it. But if you don't like it, don't buy it. If enough people feel the same way as you, they'll learn that extra print runs aren't what we want. It will certainly weaken the value of the set but we can't continue complaining about one thing (reprints, supply) and then dislike when we see more supply of reprints. While I might not personally get a chance to draft EMA, I'm glad that there will be extra opportunity for others to do so.

thirstydogMTG cash grab or not, the set is intended to be drafted. I'm trying to view it as more of a holiday surprise. I think the best thing to come out of it will be singles prices for people who actually need the cards.

Wish stores would pass on the savings when it comes to these boxes. They pay $125 from Wizard and resell to loyal local customers for over $250 a box...cmon how much overhead do you truly have?

Unless msrp was reduced and there was sufficient supply for the prices to not be spiked, then I can't personally see myself buying any boosters. But that definitely sounds interesting. I thought Wizards was moving towards new yearly releases of Masters sets so why reprint or distribute more again?

Odds are they're doing it to hose distributors who are sitting on pallets of these, and other sets and kept from distributing them as a personal investment. At 120 a pop, it doesn't sound too bad to be honest.

Feel bad for the people that were paying $300/box for these. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of customer backlash, feels a bit like wizards is losing control. Don't know if it would be very safe to go all in on them.

is this a distributor? because Alpha investments claims to have seen that there are 2 pallets from a distributor that they sat on. or is this Wizard actually contacting you...because they didn't make a 2nd print run
