I grew up hearing my dad listening to King Sunny Ade's music, and it was one of the prevailing sounds in Nigeria that I can remember hearing as a child in the 80s and early 90s, but this week, for the first time, I myself am just taking the time to listen to his music, and I have to admit that King Sunny Ade is truly a musical genius and a legend. He is really a gift from God to make people's hearts merry in the world. May God continue to uphold him with grace and mercy and keep him around longer.
