Missing Barbarian! The only game ever where you decapitate someone...then a green goblin comes on, literally kicks the head off the screen...gobs off at the dead body...and drags the body off with it...tight gameplay and great graphics made this one of the best games on the C64, and arguably one of the best ever.

@mcgendraft6 жыл бұрын
It’s probably almost impossible for any of us to agree on a top 10, as we all had different, most likely, awesome experiences with it. For me, the Epyx series (California Games/Winter Games etc) felt so far ahead of their time. Defender of the Crown was also an excellent game, along with Rocket Ranger, Strip poker, Racing Destruction Set, Ultima, Alternate Reality, Mail Monsters, Montezuma’s Revenge, Project Space Station, Beachhead, Super Huey, and Leisure Suit Larry! I bought a Aprotek 1200 bps modem, to replace my 300 bps one, just to download a Kathy Ireland picture.. all 16 colors of that pure goodness. If you squinted just right, it was epic. Sporting dual 1541’s and a ram expander.... nothing beat hitting enter on LOAD “*”,8,1

I agree, Epyx Destroyer, now there we had a game ahead of its time. Hard but fun.

You are correct. You hardly ever get everybody agreeing on any top 10 lists ie top 10 arcade conversions, top 10 fighting, top 10 race games, top 10 action adventure etc etc. The only thing people agree to is the Microprose Soccer and Emlyn Hughes were the best soccer games and as a shoot em up Armalyte is hard to beat.

The Epyx sports series were hard to beat! Unfortunately I remember them beating the 1541 heads mercilessly... @@aiddogg3 Yes it was. SUPER MARIO was not on C64, but the original Mario Bros was. In fact it got TWO official port, idiot. One from Atarisoft and another from Ocean. SMH

I bought my first Commodore 64 in 1983 and fondly remember all of these games. But I am quite surprised that not a single Ultima game made your list.

We had a Commodore 64 that was given to us by my aunt and uncle in the later 1980s after they upgraded. We had Word Wizard, Pit Stop, and my favorite, Dream House!

I've never seen it before, but that Ninja game has phenomenal graphics and animations for a C=64 game, wow!

My all time favorite game was Super Cycle. I didn't play most of the games mentioned here except Uridium and Impossible Mission WHICH I COMPLETED! It was long and quite tough. I also played Temple of Apshai Trilogy a lot.

I would also add my beloved Barbarian

We played 10, 8, 5 and 2 when we were growing up and had a C64. The rest of these are familiar at best.
