Has anyone asked how they plan on getting the concrete/steel reinforced road deck out of the silt? In the fall it's structual integrity was very visible as it dove in in long very solid sections. The steel structure being worked on now is the easy part of this deal, with visible results daily.

the progress is impressive, considering how dangerous it is to cut the thick beams underwater and maintain safety. any unexpected sudden titling could cause lives. be safe.

The rest of the Bridge will need to be torn down which truly will reopen the Port of Baltimore once that happens and in a huge way. Trying to plan for the massive logistical volumes of the "future Port of Baltimore" will be a huge challenge in particular trying to remove or "make better" somehow the massive amount of truck traffic in this Region. Also presumably the safety and security of these massive Ports starting with Baltimore will need to be "standardized" which should be up to the Shipping Companies actually as obviously of course they don't want to be running into anymore Bridges especially one just outside of Washington DC given the national security implications.

This bridge has never had a "massive" amount of truck traffic. And improvements are paid for by the city and state of Maryland to attract shippers. Make them responsible and they'll go somewhere else. And what about DC?
