maybe just me but it feels like he had that with the show in a lot of sketches. if you ever see their commentary vids on YT, he mentions improv quite a bit. I'd like to think there was some just genuine "him" in the sketches, at least. just a goofy ass man trying to goad some laughs, any means necessary.
