Almost 10 years beating everybody and not avoiding anybody like some boxers do today and at 41 years old he still has this kind of performance and still behaves like such a gentleman.. People do not say very often but.. Wladimir Klitschko is a legend!..

ajvf Those 10 years he never really had competition. He was just fighting anyone that was put in front of him. Right up until late when better boxers Furys and Joshuas have just started out. But this guy is already a legend no matter what.

not avoiding? dude never took a single vol. It took him like 8 years to get Pov in the ring with him. He certainly avoided trouble and hid underneath mandos who became top ten overnight and are not relevant today.

A true gentleman! He showed heart and courage. Man took some serious shots that would have knocked out 85% of the heavyweights in the world. Great chin. Don't retire Wlad!
@WelshChappie
@WelshChappie 7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The perception was Wladimir = Glass Chin that if hit and drops Him, no desire or courage to get back up. This fight, His chin took some big A.J rights and when those rights did drop Him, He got up and made it therough round 5 having had 2 minutes+ left as He beat the first count. Wlad didn't quit on the floor nor give up on His feet, He was deemed unable to defend Himself and the Ref stopped Him on His feet. And I have to admit, I was expecting Wlad to throw a right, jump on A.J to smother, throw left hook, Jump on A.J in clinch like He's done in previous fights like against the likes of Alex Povetkin. In this fight, despite A.J's 18 fights, 18 wins, 18 wins via KO record, Wladimir never once spoiled the fight by diving on A.J and stood in front of Him looking for His own 'Steel-Hammer' to find it's range which, in round 6, it did and put A.J on His back. A Wlad 5, maybe 7 years younger would have gone in and finished the job cause if there was one thing Wlad did brilliant it was know how to stop an opponent when He''s hurt Him. He threw a few follow up punches by none with the punch picking accuracy He would have 10 years ago. In losing, Vitali said of His younger sibling: In terms of the fight itself and how Wlad boxed and Got chinned and hit the deck only to get off the deck, see out a round and onslaught by A.J and come out the next round and slam a right hand home of His own that was no flash knock down but a heavy knock down which Saw the Ref's count get upto Eight before A.J got back to His feet, Vitali said that is the best performance He's ever seen Wladimir give in a boxing ring even though He lost the fight in the 11th and said He is exceptionally proud of the way Wlad fought and said for Him and His Brother the result was wrong (meaning not what they wanted), but said despite losing the fight, that was the best He's ever seen Wlad box in His career. A.J said when Michael Buffer was introducing the two in ring that He noticed Vitali was giving Him such a cold and icy stare that it took His attention off Wladimir for a few moments. No disrespect to A.J but a Vitali 10 years ago vs A Joshua Of Today? Joshua would have a record post Vitali Fight of 19 Fights, 18 Wins with 1 defeat.

Take the rematch Wlad. I reckon the USB said Klit would stop him in round 11 or 12 and he was trying to be clever so didn't finish him when he had chance in round 7 or 8. Can't see any other reason why he didn't go for the kill when AJ was blowing out his arse for two rounds.

When Vladimir was 28 years old, like AJ is now, i think that AJ would have been knocked out like 3rd or 4th round. klitschko was much stronger when he was in his 30th. and AJ would not have been a problem for Vladimir. i think so.

Klitschko could have ended this fight in the sixth or seventh. He thought Anthony would continue to gas. I wouldn't be upset if Klitschko retires now, but I also won't be surprised if he comes back to rematch AJ and possibly wins. He showed he has the heart, chin, obvisouly skill and power, but he underestimated AJ's athleticism and youth. He thought AJ would keep gassing after the knockdown, but AJ's young, he had the energy to recover. If Klitschko would have went after AJ with everything he had like AJ did to him in the 11th, he would have knocked AJ out.

How the fuck someone ''could of ended a fight'' if they couldn't knock out their opponent ? Shut the fuck up this isn't MMA where you can continue to do damage if someone gets knocked down. In fact how many times did Wlad get knocked down????? Way more!

If Klitschko had fought like that against Fury, he would have won. Klitschko's intensity in that fight was amazing. I'm not a fan of Klitschko, but I respect him a lot after that fight. He got knockdown 3 times and got up and kept punching and not too much clinching like in his previous fights. Joshua will become a force to be reckoned with. He's only 27 years old and fought a future legend in front of 90,000 people and got knockdown, exhausted and he came back winning by TKO. Congrats Joshua!!!

KLITSCHKO is a great boxer one of the best of all time. I bet at a young age the fight was not going to happen in this way. At 41, against a 27-year-old, this was predictable. I have great respect for the 2 boxers to make them play and mutual respect.

Wladimir was scary in that fight, leaping in with that left hook trying to take Joshua's head off, taking huge shots and still standing. He was like a completely different fighter. I would take that Wladimir over any current heavyweight. He didn't look like a guy with a glass chin last night. The fight could've been waved off in the 6th when Joshua was stumbling around dead on his feet. Great win for Joshua though, Wladimir deserves loads of respect for this fight and Tyson Fury's win looks all the more impressive now.

Credit to Wlad and AJ, but seriously, anyone who thinks that Wlad SUPER trained for this fight and just rolled out of bed for Fury are fucking idiots, Fury made Wlad look slow and old because Fury has incredible footwork and head movement for a HW, the fastest out there, the reason he looked a lot better in this fight is because of the style, Joshuas defence is his offence, to keep Wlad off he has to walk forward and fight, this made it look a lot better, because Joshua can not do what Fury did, this is facts. Klit v Fury would end in the same way simply because of Furys height, reach and movement, Fury v Joshua would be different because Joshua would be a lot quicker and throw more coming at Fury, Klitschko is so professional that he trains incredibly hard for every fight. The media are so overhyping Joshua it is incredible, credit for him tonight, but people are already calling him the best HW out of Britian ever... Pathetic, it is worrying that Joshua has only been caught about 4/5 times and looked fucked everytime. Personally i wouldn't want to see a rematch, think it ends the same way, simply because age is catching up with Wlad and Joshua is young with power and speed. In my honest opinion Fury beats AJ quite easily, but 90% of british fans will disagree because of the media hype around AJ. Stop taking away Furys credit because he wasn't in a war with Kiltschko, he didn't need to be, that speaks volumes.

Question: What does AJ need to do, in your eyes, to justify the 'media hype'--having failed so far?
@MrTrumpet
@MrTrumpet 7 жыл бұрын
alfonm he's a great athlete, but his actual boxing skills leave a lot to be desired. I'm a big AJ fan and love his power, but frankly his ring entrance for the fight portrayed him to be something he's not. He's not failed at all, he's knocked out everyone that he's faced he can't do anything better than that, but Fury would still wipe the floor with him because he's not good technically and is basically just an exceptional slugger.
@marc_anton
@marc_anton 7 жыл бұрын
I agree that he has technical flaws. Wlad actually put it well: he's vulnerable. That said, so is Fury. Fury has speed and awkwardness, but has already been knocked down by at least two mediocre fighters (Cunningham and another) in his career with half the power of AJ. There's also a video on KZbin (I can provide the link) where he admits that he was spanked by AJ in sparring and tipped AJ to become a world champ one day. Fury's style worked for Kilt precisely because Klit lacks a killer instinct... So it basically turned into an awkward, hug-fest were Fury was able to use his superior footwork, height and reach. I actually think AJ is all wrong for Fury and will plough through his soft body and chin. AJ's weakness, as Wlad showed, is his vulnerability to KO power and that is not something that Fury possesses much of. Even though Wilder is technically one of the worst heavyweights in recent memory, I actually think he's AJ's biggest threat. His power is clear and once he knocks someone down he is spiteful and unrelenting. If Fury ends up "wiping the floor" with AJ then I will give you full respect for seeing what I can't, but I seriously doubt it. Hopefully, to be continued.

Wlad wouldn't have 'rolled out of bed' for Fury, true, but it's human nature that he approached that fight like he would any normal fight, and then after the loss he was extra motivated, he was extra determined, and as many people have said he came back in the best shape of his career, he had that extra 10% motivation and looked far better. That's how humans work, they sometimes get complacent and then come back stronger
