Very Very cool RC Frost Ballet Dancing. Makes me want to buy one. Really like the wheels. Similar to the Tamiya Street Rovers, but with "Round Leather" ??? ha ha ha The rubber wing is an good idea too. Excellent video my friend. Big Thumbs up : ))

Just what I was looking for, thank you, after passing my car through a puddle of water I happened the same with the main engine and after drying it with a hair dryer for a long time and letting it air for more than 1 hour it worked again. Good to know that it is a protection of the plate by moisture.
@NordicRC7 жыл бұрын
Carlos Carmona Yeah I’ve had it happen with other models. After drying them they usually work again. Funny thing about this one it seems quite protected against splashes/moisture, after having a closer look at it and some experience from commenter Panthermadcat here. I also had it out on very wet grass a few days ago. Worked sweet there. Well. The main thing is that it works again once it is dried :-)

The connection wasn't lost. There is an automatic ESC shutdown when the battery is low :)
@NordicRC7 жыл бұрын
No the connection was lost. But maybe it was a malfunction of the cut off. What I actually didn't show in the video (the battery on my camera was low so I didn't film it) is that I shook it a little afterwards and then it ran again for about 5 minutes. After that the cut off went on. At that time I figured it was the "real" cut off because it had been going for about 10 minutes or more in total. Maybe it was the frost or the water? The ESC on this is literally open for anything.
@PantherMadCat7 жыл бұрын
Not really, the ESC is completely sealed with sealing compound. Open the box and you will find it out. I can provide you a photo, if you want. I had burned one, and needed a replace. But the T-Plug-Connector could also be a problem, isn't good connector in my view.
@NordicRC7 жыл бұрын
I noticed the see-through sealing compund in the edge but wasn't too sure if it sealed everything (I haven't opened it). No need for a photo, I believe you my friend :-) Yeah, maybe you could be right and it crossed my mind too. But the easiest explanation was the frost/water. I've experienced problems both with the tamiya plugs and with the T/deans plugs. That could also explain why it re-started when I shook it. But it do not explain why the servo was working if the battery was disconnected. But either a loose connection or some pre-maturely cut off activation caused by something. But it works sweet again now.
@PantherMadCat7 жыл бұрын
Then probably malfunction of cut-off :) or battery voltage was down, the battery isn't good one.
@NordicRC7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, something. Looking forward testing it again too see how it fares. Seems to work sweet except for that little moment when time stood still. Good to know the ESC isn't completely exposed to water. Thanks, buddy. Now I know and I will dare taking it out again if it's a little damp/frosty :-) Can't hurt too much. How do you like the A959-B?

Can you please tell me does the diffs in the a959b with upgraded setup need to have the little o rings in the cups of the cv drive shafts as the plastic diffs have them? I have a lot of wobble in the cups and cant find info if I should put them in! I guess it wouldn't hurt with some light weight grease?any reply appreciated thanks for the video 👍👍👍
@NordicRC6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for watching, Edmond. I haven't noticed any o-rings in either my A959 or A959-B. Just took them apart in a new video on my channel. You can check out all the differences there. I got a lot of wobble in especially the wheel axles, but I doubt o-rings will help, since the drive axles/dog bones sit quite tight stock wise already. It just seems the wheel axle cups do not sit very good in the bushings, especially when wear and tear of those bushings start to kick in. Got a new upgrade series coming up, where I will try out ball bearings in the hubs. Maybe it will help a little, especially over time. "Light Weight Grease"?

@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
They all do have a problem with ‘toe-out’. You can trim it a little on your transmitter so at least both wheels have the same amount of toe-out. But you need turn-buckles or longer upper arms to properly fix it.

No not really, but I expect it was a heat protection system ... or maybe an early LiPo cut-off. Since this video I’ve had a lot of others of the A9*9 and these really have a limited run time and produces a lot of heat (because of gearing and motor size).

At last moments rc car stop to move forward and back only due to low batt.i have also this rc car.when the voltage will be lower than 6 volts.this will automatically stop to run.so you should only to charge the batt.
@NordicRC6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it has a LiPo cutt-off. I think the LiPo cut-off also activates as a heat protection. On this run I was no way near a descent run time, so I automatically assumed it was the cold/the water. But since this video I've been running the A959-B a lot (see some other video series in my channel) and the motor/ESC gets hot quite fast or drained very fast. So I believe you are right :-)

i wonder if the a959 and the a959b share the same esc? for me the version of this with the smaller motor seems best for racing a little track...i think the slower one stiill has a top speed of 25 mph on 2s lipo pack... so multiply 25 x 18 and you get 450 mph which is over three times the speed of a full size race buggy like this...so in my opinion 90% of the tracks you race on using same skilled driver the a959 car would win or tie going against a959b...only track the a959b could win on would have to be hard surface with great traction and a lot of long straight in the track... for fun this one wins...

No sorry, this happened well before the LiPo voltage threshhold. The motor and ESC get’s quite hot on this one, especially when off road, so that is probably why it cuts off. It happened again for me with another brand new A959-B a few days ago actually. Incredibly hot motor and ESC. But yes it is the same cut off as the LiPo cut off, shutting down the second channel and leaving the first one on (the steering), so it’s easy to confuse them. So even if it was cold this day last winter, the spinning you see in the video maybe caused the motor or/and the ESC to overheat.

Ahhhhh, it's always so difficult to say. There are so many opinions and people are very different, in terms of what they will end up liking. I think you just have to search the market and just go with a model that appeals to you and suits your needs. Think about where you wanna run it (grass, dirt, street, forest etc. and how much space you have to run it in). Maybe also look at parts supply (especially if it's a fast model). And recommendations.

@NordicRC6 жыл бұрын
No the battery didn’t die 😉 It was an early LiPo cut-off. I’ve later learned that the A959-B has a very limited runtime and the motor and ESC gets really really hot fast because of the 540 motor and the high gearing. With this first try I was surprised that it stopped after only a couple of minutes. But I think the spinning just overheated the motor/ESC and it activated the LiPo cut off. Got a lot of other videos with the A959-B (and the other A9X9) in my channel now. Check them out ☺️ Thanks for watching!

Im in the process of converting nitro MGT and Rc8 into brushless 4974, 2259KV....mostly due to ground clearance...so I can run it at a local park around the corner from my house. Nice open field with hills and dirt patches here and there....Mostly so I can Open them up. My 1/10 do close to 50 mph on 3s...Hopefully I can gear the 1/8 to do over 40mph....They're bricks. The 1/10 use MT mosty due to ground clearence..so I can drive through my nieghbour's yards and on the street too ( it;s like a cool little sort of track)...I live in a collar sack....My nieghbors are nice,,,they dont park on the street....They know I play with my r/c cars... I used to drive them crazy with nitro..back in the days They love the electrics more than I do.lmao I also use convert fy03 to brushless for that..mine pop wheelies on 2s. I can run 3s in it..because I install a 60A esc. Over 40 mph...but not every controllable...hence not as fun to drive... I used the 1/18 mostly to get the same effect...not as fast...but zippy. It has the effect as if Im doing 50mph on the 1/10. i drive it all the time in front of my house...it saves me the trouble of going to the park....So i can get my R/C fix.lmao it's actually at perfect speed to do that.....It dosnt break becuase it's light, dosnt roll as much as the Fy03 or 12628...I hit the curb every so often. It is what it is
