Well done. Projecting critical text theory upon pre-modern confessional subscribers is, at best , anachronistic and, at worst, abandonment of confessional bibliology. It is a false dilemma to pose the question as an artificially frozen text versus an arbitrarily fluid text.

If I may offer a syllogism: 1. Jeff Riddle is aware of textual variants. 2. Jeff Riddle occasionally analyzes the significance of textual variants, 3. Therefore, Jeff Riddle is clearly a follower of modern critical text theory. 😉
