How did I miss this? I thought they were country. When was this, anyway?

@@williamschenold7056 When I left Chicago in 1963, I came back nearly every year to visit family and drag a reel to reel, turn & tape. I just thought of WMAQ as a talk station, so I never tuned them in. I loved WVON & WGRT as well. I even did some WIND Benson & Russell! Quite a bit of their #1 Music format created by Robert W. Morgan, where I fell in love with Connie Scerzen! I was surprised to hear a jingle from one of my favorite jocks Jim Stagg. I heard him visiting Milwaukee in 1962. I, of course air checked him in '66 &7, respectfully; along with Jerry G. Bishop at WCFL. I dearly love my Chicago birthright, and all the jocks I met thru the years. Such great memories! Anyone got any air checks of WMAQ during those years? Take care.

@stevekckm7879 You're so right about this. I have the same reason when listening and relating to most of these jingle packages TM Productions did during the 1970s... Some of these things may seem so weird as such sound effects and instruments wouldn't fit with all of these vocal mixes, but at least they tried to differentiate and innovate the sound of Chicago radio with the jingles WMAQ used on the air.
