This is a short video featuring a short tour of, and some railfanning, at the newest station in the WMATA Washington Metro system, the station at Potomac Yard. The Potomac yard VT station, with its center track dual platform design, completes the original plan of the metro system.

I gotta say this has some of the best views of trains you can get in the system. And despite its flaws (like the south entrance and the bus bays) this is overall an amazing station

@@ALPTrainVideos yah the 1ks were the first ones to ever exist so their iconic no question. Of course it was time for them to go a few years ago but at the same time it was tough to let go having grown up on those. I personally wish a bigger amount of 6ks got ordered. You know how they have 184? I wish they had like 400 instead. Not too much or too little. This is mostly because those have always been their most reliable trains historically and safest and also a lot of customers tend to like them just as much as 7ks from what I have seen and heard and most importantly so this whole 7k issue since october 2021 wouldn't have looked as dramatic as it did cause long headways obviously suck. Service would have still been cut but not as big as it did. Of course the 7ks are the newest but their safety record certainly isn't the best.
