When I left DC in '84, this was a gleam in MetroRail's eye, they'd just started designating the line (co-located with the Yellow Line) downtown. Definitely a unique station.

Most of those trains are new. They've been recently built and added to the metro.

These are Japanese-built Kawasaki trains. BART's new fleet is Bombardier. However, Rohr Industries built the 1st Generation trains for both BART and WMATA.
