On June 26, 2009 at 11:00am, WNBC-TV bid farewell to its history of having an analog signal. Regular programming had already been terminated two weeks earlier on June 12, 2009 at 12:30pm.
The station had become a nightlight service for two weeks to help viewers make the switch to digital television (DTV). The "-TV" from the callsign had been pretty much deleted as the only signal was from a video server from the FCC for nightlight.
What had followed was a logo sequence of NBC history & one final chime before engineers pulled the plug for good.
This video shows the timeline from nightlight (June 12 at 12:30pm), to "GOODBYE" (June 26 at 11:00am).
