I SAW one of the 'Wire Walkers' at the Falls in the early 1960's when I was a lad of about 9 years old. I also saw 'Pole Sitters' in Atlantic City in the 60's. Those were the days!

Half the water in the river is diverted by the US and Canada for hydroelectric power, so imagine what the falls would look and sound like at 100% flow.
@pacman35564 күн бұрын
pretty sure they divert the water at night into the reservoir so the reservoir is full in the morning. They then stop diverting the water during the day (or most of the water for most of the day) as they use the water from the reservoir. I think it is at or near full flow capacity during most of the day. At least on the Canadian side.

I’ve been on the walk behind the American falls. I was six years old and wore the smallest rain gear they had, but were still much too big. I remember being kind of scared to go by myself into the women’s changing room, but of course my Dad couldn’t go in. I met him outside. We also rode on the Maid of the Mist.

I can see pitching a ship over the falls, but those poor animals! That smacks of going to the Roman arena to see the lions devour Christians. I put the running of the bulls and bull fighting in the same category.

Is the movie 🎥 they play at the Greg Frewin theatre? Instead of going to Harvey Lalonde's celebration of life ( June 11), I camped out overnight of the Greg Frewin theatre in Niagara Falls to buy a ticket for the 1030 film. The theatre opened at 930 am and the staff said they were closed for renovations. It was first time in my lifetime that I decided to be like one of those crazy TIFF members camping overnight to buy a movie ticket . I can't get the internet to work a lot of the time to buy online tickets! R.I.P Harvey Lalonde!

I was born and raised in Niagara Falls and lived there for 36 years before I fled the Democratic People's Republic of New York. I knew 4 people who were killed by the river. 3 drowned and 1 jumped the falls because his ugly wife cheated on him. The Niagara River is no joke. Since they built casinos on both sides of the river....many suicides of degenerate gamblers. I still have nightmares about the river. The first man to swim the English Channel challenged the lower river at the rapids, which are most dangerous in the world, they never found his body. From time to time there would be stories in the newspaper about a human torso discovered at the Coast Guard Station at Fort Niagara. The Niagara River killed one of the Coast Guardsmen, you ever hear of members of the Coast Guard drowning? The river is no joke.

I LOVE it!! Democratic People's Republic of New York!! So appropriately put!!! WOW - smart! I have never been to Niagara but always wanted to visit (safely LOL). I would love to see the Canadian side, not the NY side. Would like to do the Maid of the Mist. But I hate huge huge huge crowds - like Disney type crowds. So I may do it in the dead of winter - although now I think that it is getting popular too. Oh how do I escape the ugly of the human race?? LOLOL
