As a side tip for anyone who finished him, after the next battlefield you unlock the Sub Battlefield "The Lost Sacred Artifact" where you can easily get 5 Rank 5 steel and a cleansing lotus in like 30 seconds as many times as you want.

I struggled with this boss for about 3 hours, watched more than a couple guide videos with no success. I beat this boss on my first attempt after following your guide and only used 4 of my 6 health potions in the fight. I was a slightly lower level than you were in this fight but still managed to distribute my points sufficiently. Great video, thanks!

Dude, thank you so much for this strategy. I came back to this game after not playing for a while and was breezing through it mostly unscathed and then Lu Bu drops in and killed me for like 8 hours. I tried nearly every other video on KZbin and I was getting close but never enough to actually do it. One in particular uses a similar strat to yours but had me invest every point into earth, which really leaves you with no HP so as soon as his late stage combo goes off if I got hit once I was done. Stumbled on your video, decided to try it and got him on the second attempt. Much easier solo I find, the followers distract him and you can get caught off guard if he decides to hit you instead. 10/10 strategy, thank you very much for freeing me from this boss fight. Thought I'd be here forever lol Also Dragon's Cure Powder is no joke. I didn't even bother with it until now. Thanks much for the tip.

I had a 45 full water build here. I struggled a Lot. The problem for me was the off horse phases. He combos a lot and that was the thing that killed me all the Time. This fight i learned to block. To actually hold l1 and not get so punished when i miss a deflect. Not Easy, but your build Is not the problem. Just learning that one thing made the game a lot easier for me

You just need to not let him go in fire mode so you need ti deflect his strong attacks.

Just beat him 30 mins ago. Cool trick, hold down guard while you try and parry. Even if you screw up the timing you still block most of his attacks.

I struggled a lot on this fight and it is largely because of my build previous to this video. If you do everything this guy says you will 100% beat him. These are the only tips that seemed to have helped me so this is by far the best tip video for Lu Bu I have seen, great work. 👍🏻

Can you travel to the village and back to the boss checkpoint or do you have to replay the level again?

it saves at the last checkpoint it resets once you have beaten him so if you have done the whole map and are at the last flagpoint before the boss but need too say go to the hidden village to respec you can do that with no issues👍

Ok, fought this dude *alone* Both times (not 2 times, he schooled me plenty) NOT complaining, he *forced* me to become a deflecting god! I’d argue one of the best bosses out of Nioh, SoulsBorne, etc: forces you to master a very important mechanic. Loved it but, where are the 2 companions??? Still learning game admittedly, but-there’s *2* helpers? (Prob right in front my face or an obvious item to use)

you can summon up to 22 companions at any time to help you through each level and level them up.....this also gives you their armor and weapon at max level go to the flag and their should be an option on their to bring them in...I believe it was near the bottom

It took me two days to defeat Lu Bu (with regular breaks for sleep, food, and bills and life in general, lol) but I actually discovered the Imposing Slab technique on my own as I play tested for those two days. I gave up after multiple tries, but something told me to come back, and Lu Bu is now in the record books. Also, it worked great on those two guys you had to take on at once in one of the next sub-missions. Be that as it may, thanks for posting such great videos, as thanks to you, many more of us will come forward and shout it out that we defeated one of the toughest bosses in gaming history!

Finally beat Lu Bu with your stat allocation, +5 armor & imposing slab after counters (no cure powder, no summons) after several attempts 🔥💪🏻🙏🏻…after failing 20-30x with water build 😖. I also found helpful to have frost lance on hand to put out his fire weapon buff & Qinglong divine beast for some heals). Thx!

Imposing slab has a shorter duration than frozen spear trap which does more damage as he's a fire boss and weak to water. The advantage of pumping earth virtue is you can wear several pieces of Lieutenant General armour with high physical and fire resistance imo.

I beat him with just guard, parries and counterattacks and no spells. Not gonna lie it took me a while however Believe me if you do that and learn how to parry every critical from him after LU BU you are a f.... Parry beast and have earned the title of sensei! Then after him, you have mastered the art of parry in the game. Every boss or enemy is a cakewalk and a pushover for you now.

This boss really wouldn't be so bad to try over and over again if it weren't for the morale system. Yes, you get back what you had when you died to him, but that doesn't bar that you could lose several levels of it during the fight.

you need to travel back to the level from the flag and restart it...the only other reason I can think possibly the level has to be completed not sure about that one as I had already finished it before doing this👍

First phase not a big deal. Second phase not possible. He gets his fire attacks which you can’t block and you basically do no damage to him. Stuck on him for 4 hours and not got him under 75% health

Unfortunately there is no strategy that allows to deal with him quickly like it use to be in the past. Ice shower spell does no damage. Earth Slab spell is the same story = very little damage no matter where or how you use it. This boss designed to be tedious. The fight is very drawn out. And the whole idea to put the arguably hardest boss in the game in the middle of your playthrough is just "strange" decision. This ruins the pace of the game. Creates d difficulty spike when nobody asked for one. The hardest content should be near the end of the game. A lot of people will just drop the game at that point. Overall a bad decision on devs part.

It seems there is no point in making a guide on how to kill bosses. They die easily. It's better to make guides on where to farm the best weapons, where to farm the best talismans, what are the best sets :)

Lu Bu will be a bit of a skill check for a lot of people so I've tried to show some of the best things they can have for him and for any boss before or after... my last guide before this showed how to get all of the followers armors and weapons fast with more on the way
