If you like this you MUST watch Edgar and his brother Johnny do the song Tobbaco Road. Trust me, you won’t regret it. This song Frankenstein is an instrumental but in Tobacco Road, Edgar sings and that is the part that’ll open your eyes.

Footnote: Edgar and Johnny Winter were both legally blind due to being born with albinism. Incredibly talent and a drive for experimentation. So glad you enjoyed the video.

This man invented the keyboard strap, which eventually inspired the keytar. Man is a legend! Changed the Keyboardist game.

They are amazed at real music. Real musicians playing real instruments. No auto tune crapola.

The so often neglected concept, is that the drummer is totally playing off of whatever Edgar is going, and in a split second is able to to create a harmony between them, no matter how off the rails Edgar went. To watch an entire concert of Charles Ruff, create and carry the band was glorious. He never got the recognition he deserved which was a shame RIP Charles.

This music blew my mind mind in 1972. It was only recently that I saw this live video and realized that Edgar was playing more instruments than just the keyboards and analog synthesizer. Mind doubly blown.

Dude I am so glad you guys checked out the Winter brothers. Those dudes are the epitome of "your favorite artists favorite artist", so many important bands and musicians have said throughout their careers that it was the Winter Brothers who influenced their sound and motivated them to start their bands

The guitar player in white is Rick Derringer who had an early hit "Hang on Sloopy" and later followed up with "Rock and Roll Hootchie Coo" He is a monster on guitar and is on many other peoples tracks over the years. He can play! The bass player is Dan Hartman who also had a couple hits "I can dream about you." The caliber of players who back Edgar says much about his vast talent. He is still touring with Ringo Starr's All Star Band and still playing like this. Amazing.

I saw Edgar about 1980, and when he started Frankenstein, within the first 16 bars or so, he blew up the synth, and thank god pro musicians carry back up sh*t because he put on an awesome show for the hour wait we had to endure. These were the days that the synthesizer had to be programmed before you could use it.
