So basically, the song is about a friend who committed suicide. The robot of course represents the friend, and him pouring water on himself represents the suicide. It's a reminder to remember your friends and to not leave them. The lyrics also change from "we knew we'd be friends forever" to "we thought we'd be friends forever", which hits hard. I love how everyone can have a different interpretation, and your interpretation is really interesting and meaningful, I enjoyed reading it. I’ve always perceived this song as a metaphor for growing up, or growing away from your childhood. The boy makes a doll for a friend out of bits and bobs and uses his childhood imagination to turn him into a real friend: the representation of his innocence, imagination and youth. As he grows up, this does not grow with him. They part as he goes to college, and his youth and innocence is dimmer than it had been, but still there. When he leaves his adolescence, this childhood sense of wonder he felt with the world, or his “friend” has died, and he has grown up and lost his innocence, that vitality he had as a child after being exposed to the world. But again, it could be anything, and the best part is that we can try and work it out for ourselves with our own business imagination rather than being told how to perceive it or force fed ideas :)

The song is about a boy who builds a robot. He spent his childhood with the robot, and the robot became his best friend. When the boy grew up, he went to college, but the robot couldn’t come with him, so he left them at home alone. The boy got a girlfriend and spent the summer with his girlfriend instead of the robot. The robot then got lonely, and they poured water on themselves. the boy came back from college/vacation only to find the robot’s lifeless body on the floor.

Honestly a childhood a friend moving away sucks. Cause no type of communication will ever be like hanging out in person. And like it will suck so much more if ur parents or ur friends parents won’t let u (or them) have a phone, then you’ll have no way to stay in touch and then you won’t see each other until high school (which feels like it always happens, it has to me) but honestly ngl after not hanging out with someone for years bc they moved or u did, the first time hanging out with them is legit one of the best things abt a friendship cause ur catching up but also reliving old memories and it proving that no matter how long you guys have been apart, you will always be good friends and have a great time together

I'm homeschooled and don't get invited hardly anywhere, I don't really fit in with the people at my church so I got the app Yubo and met SO MANY amazing people on there. I have 2 coming down in October and 1 thinking about moving down here with me. Most people say that online friends are not real but literally, after getting Yubo it prove that they are real because they have been there for me through the roughest times in my life and I am incredibly thankful for them.

also Ik I kinda already commented before but as im rewatching the video, the ending it does happen maybe not a lot but it does happen. It kinda reminds me of this movie I saw with Ezra Miller, Paul Rudd and Emma Watson where Ezra Miller and Emma Watsons characters, are seniors and they start hanging out with this freshmen who’s kinda a loner and awkward (Logan Lerman I think his name is ) they start hanging out and getting close. The freshmen has the best year of his life probably, then Ezra and Emma Watsons characters leave for college, the freshmen he attempts to kill himself bc he didn’t wanna feel like how he felt before he met them. Really good movie too, but that’s why ppl should try and get more friends bc the less friends u have the more dependent u are on them and when they leave for anything the more empty you’ll feel unless u got other friends
