I concur! I was just in S Africa and a lot of what I heard on media, its quite the opposite while i was there. The people are kind, helpful, intelligent and overall mannered. I notice the same trend about Jamaica and many territories occupied by mostly non-caucasions so I ceased listening to the media and opt to do my own research. The media can be very toxic when its not in their interest.

About seventy percent of the Jamaican population can be classified as lower middle to middle to upper income to rich and wealthy The rest are lower income to poor. It is worth knowing to that many communities similar to Beverly Hills exist in the Corporate Area of Kingston and St Andrew and other parishes throughout Jamaica. Also many of the wealthy people in Jamaica are very educated and highly paid professionals who often own their own businesses .

Jamaica is famed for its beautiful sandy beaches and rich cultural heritage. It is a popular destination for cruise ships. Tourism is one of Jamaica's top sources of revenue. In 2023, 4.5 million tourists were welcomed to the island. The industry contributes over 50% of the country's total foreign exchange earnings (approx. US$20). Thousands of Jamaicans work directly or indirectly in tourism. Tourism employs the second largest number of Jamaicans (approximately 200,000) directly in hotels, transport and attractions and indirectly in trading, manufacturing and banking. Many people in key tourist areas, such as Montego Bay, have benefited from an improved quality of life due to tourism. This island country is fully equipped when it comes to pampering guests, with five-star hotels offering, luxurious suites, gourmet dining world-class spas, private swimming pools, sailing, scuba diving and much more! The tourism industry earns over 50 percent of the country's total foreign exchange earnings and provides about one-fourth of all jobs in Jamaica.

Tourists are rarely affected by crime in Jamaica because the majority of the tourists stay in relatively secure areas and spend usually less a month at a time in Jamaica; the longer the time one spend in a country the more likely one could be the victim of a crime. In addition, crime against tourists(the Non Black ones, the majority) are viewed by the government as very important to solve because the Jamaican government depend on tourism for revenue. Jamaicans (as expected) are the target of the majority of the crime in Jamaica. Jamaica needs to be safe for the Jamaicans
@jamdawgutube5 ай бұрын
@@coz2j69 Correction: since recently, A LOT of foreigners are venturing into the ghettos in Jamaica (the "crime ridden" parts of Jamaica). Trench Town, for example, is one of the most revered and feared ghettos in Jamaica, which a lot of foreigners frequent. Down Town, Kingston is one massive ghetto (even though there is a lot of development taking place there, especially closer to the water front which is very modern), and many tourists go there. It is a lie to say that tourists don't venture into places that even Jamaicans are afraid to go.

What do you mean the ‘real’ side of Jamaica? ‘Real’ for whom? This is not the real life of the majority of Jamaicans.. All this is, is ANOTHER side of Jamaica. Crime ridden sections of Montego Bay are another side of Jamaica. Lush, green, beautiful rural parishes with fresh fruits, beautiful rivers, are another side of Jamaica. The ghettos of downtown Kingston are another side of Jamaica. So there is no ‘real’(for want of a better word)Jamaica; just different sides of Jamaica, all of which makes it the enviable island that it is.

That guy who said that America is a scam spoke straight, plain truth. Nothing but stress and extra hard work that gets you nothing but more hard work and unhappiness. No true freedom.

I subscribed, I'm Caribbean from St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Tears just came to my eyes because what you are doing here reversing psychology placed on our people is so powerful. Appreciate your hard work and sending you so much positive energy to be able to complete your purpose. Thank you for doing this.

I absolutely love what you’re doing. As a Jamaican defendant living in Canada, I have met a lot of west Africans and the similarities between cultures is so apparent. We are one family… we are all brothers and sisters. African Caribbean link up is everything!!! 🖤❤️💛💚

It is not only the media. As we saw recently with one of our islands; KZbinrs are leaving their home country to show the worst image of our islands. What is really their motive, and why do they feel they have that right? I don't know. Countries need to have strict laws for anyone producing those bad image videos. Thanks for this video. I have been to Jamaica several times but have not had the priviledge to see these wealthy residential areas.

Let's see, I finally watched this video are some time. This video was beautiful. I'm from Jamaica and I go back every year to Kingston just to enjoy. And I'm glad that you from Africa has seen the beautiful side that is not normally portrayed. I've met and lived with people from Ghana, Nigeria Cameroon Seychelles, Uganda and a few more countries. We're so much alike and I'm glad we can see the truth in each other's country.

Thanks for showcasing many aspects of my homeland Jamaica, including the beautiful homes in Beverly Hills. But Beverly Hills is NOT the only area with beautiful and luxurious homes where the rich and very well to do live. It is one of many. There are beautiful, large homes across the island but Kingston, the capital parish with the most people -- approximately 2/3rds of the population live in Kingston/St. Andrew -- has the most luxury communities. I hope you come back to Jamaica and get to see the gorgeous homes in places like Chancery Hall, Cherry Gardens, Norbrook, Russell Heights, Jacks Hill, Forest Hills, parts of the Red Hills, Aylsham Heights, Barbican Heights, Hope Pastures, Mona and parts of New Kingston.

We Jamaicans are intense. We are intensely good or we are intensely bad. Most of us are good. Plus we love you Wode because you remind us of Marcus Garvey our National Heroe.😎🏁

Many more than 1% live like this in Jamaica. Beverly Hills is one of many across Jamaica. The island also has a big middle class. That’s one of Jamaica’s best kept secrets simply because most vloggers go straight to the ghettos. They should of course, but balance is always important for our African nations because of the legacy of one sided stories about our countries. I really applaud Wode Maya’s dedication to balance. Thank you so much.
