Thanks Ben, I have been struggling putting multiple double unders together for a while now. This tutorial plus the one you have concerning correct handle grip solved my problem. The most DUs I every put together may have been 7 or 8 and today I was exceeding 20 at the end of my workout. Very exciting and can't wait to build onto this. Thanks again for the great tips, very helpful and most appreciated!!!

That's amazing! Wish I found this before I ruptured my Achilles over a week ago. Now it'll be a while before I can try again. I think jumping too high and too high-impact is part of what contributed to the fatigue injury in the first place.

Huge thank you for this video. I moved from 1 DU to 11 DU in a single 10 min training by applying this method. I also had to shorten the rope because I kept the arms low and it made the DU easier.
@ironmoms41878 жыл бұрын
Great advice! My clients can't double under because they can't get over their hate of tripping during basic jump rope - I've tried to correct their wildly flailing arms but never thought to bind them. I'm going to use your band trick to get them to do their basic jump rope with less errors.

The handles on my speed rope keeps sliding down the rope when I do double unders(if you know what I mean). It's so much harder to do double unders on speed ropes than plastic ropes, I can't feel any weight or tension on the handles to get the rhythm(if you know what I mean, again) haha WODprep
@WODprep9 жыл бұрын
johnnay! :p I know exactly what you mean! Check out a heavy-wire speed rope- that will be perfect for you for now. Eventually, you will get the hang of it and feel that tension.

When I was learning double unders, I used to move my arms wider and it used to get stuck in my pinky toe whenever the rope caught there, it used to hurt my forearm very very bad.. But today, I learned how to do continuous double unders, if you are learning double unders, keep in mind that you need to jump higher and practice it without ropes cause the ropes hurts your legs badly.

Today I tryed to re-learn double unders, for 45min I did not manage to put up 2 consecutive DU. And on the 30-th minute I figured out that my hands are widening like you described, and I was doing them in the gym on some mat, so not the hardwood floor so I could not hear them as well. Thank you for pointing that out. Shame, that you did not touch rope length. Cheers!

Any tip on when you are on 50+ DU and your arms just start separating from your body? Is it just fatigue or is there any technique to that?
@WODprep5 жыл бұрын
Hey! It’s mostly fatigue. Fixing it could be as simple as honing in your technique with banded drills or simply improving your endurance. For instance doing a week of DU’s at 50%of your PR and building that percentage up over the next few weeks.

How much & how long it needs to learn triple-under if lets say I can did 50-70 double-under in a row?

That's a tough one. Triple unders are an entirely different animal! You have to be able to jump REALLY high and make sure you have great rope speed. Maybe I will make a video about them soon!

Nope, using the band to keep your elbows in is wrong and bad technique. Your elbows need to be pushed back behind you, not squeezed to your sides.
@WODprep8 жыл бұрын
+BKSledge Agree that they should be back. But this is to fix the ARM LIFT problem not the ARM FORWARD problem! Have any tips for fixing arms forward?
