Great vid! Interesting at 1:50 where you have the z3000 modulating the pitch of the Rubicon. There's a strange spike in the pitch at the top of the triangle. Possibly related to the Z3000 having a Saw core, and the internal waveshaping doesn't create a proper triangle?

thanks! not quite sure about the sound of that triangle lfo modulation. my guess would be that it's the amplitude of the LFO pushing the Rubicon out of audio range for a second before it comes back down. I don't remember which FM input I was using on the Rubicon. but, I don't have a scope to look at the z3k... in fact I don't have the z3k anymore either, heh

Thanks very much for the vid. This module make a lot more sense to me now. Do you know if you clock the random pulses. Be nice to be able to strike modules in time with the master clock
@shimbori10 жыл бұрын
Can clock the random pulses i meant...
@okkoto9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Green sorry for the long response time, but you can't exactly, but you can get timed bursts wth enough fiddling by using a clock signal in the pulse density cv input.

Learned a lot from you, thanks. Edit: I just noticed this is your most viewed video, why don't you do more tutorials?

awesome! I've been thinking about doing more. I have a couple of ideas. Anything you'd like to see?

Well I see that you have Just Friends and a Stillson Hammer, not only am I interested in exploring a single module I'd like to see demos where people are showing how a particular module in their rig is often paired with another favorite module.
@okkoto7 жыл бұрын
ah! sold Just Friends awhile back and wanted to shoot a video for it before I did, but just couldn't find the time. The hammer is a good choice though. But I am about to get Pamela's New Workout, and I think she's a good candidate, particularly for what you say about pairing. I'll put my head in it. Appreciate the feedback.

this is a great video, but i have to ask.... what is with the obsession with turning every module into an oscillator? There is a tendency to spend way too much time making everything into an audio source and I dont get it.
@okkoto8 жыл бұрын
Ryan Crowther don't know if it's an obsession for me but it's an option for this module so figured I'd cover it. proportionately it's the shortest segment of the video so not sure what you mean by too much time. but, feel free to use the module in any way you want. that's what makes them fun

Great review. Sold me on the URA, just ordered one. They say the Quantum Rainbow pair well with it, but I cant find any demos....have you paired em up?
@okkoto7 жыл бұрын
Danny Hollander hey thanks so much. I haven't ever used the Quantum Rainbow. I could see it working well by feeding the URA all those flavors of noise, but I always just stuck with the internal noise on it. I'm going to do a new kind of overview video soon about how I route all my midi and stuff. stay tuned.
