Listening to Ghazal Maestro Jagjit Singh ji and his great life partner Chitra Singh since 1990, when I was on a two semester departmental training at IIT Kanpur, my colleague Mr. Biswajeet Ghosh used to listen Jagjeet Singh using a cassette player. Since then till date I never missed ghazals from various albums of Jagjit Singh Chitra Singh. Their command on voice , modulation, presentation and over all control of Rhythm is simply outstanding. In his composition, Jagjit has amazingly incorporated both deep emotion and sweet melody to Sudarshan Fakir's heart touching poetry. And then topped it off with his magical voice, skilled singing, and Chitra'a honey-sweet voice. WoW! Of all the various versions of this beautiful creation, I find this one the most perfect. I met Jagjit and Chitra in person many years ago - and remember Chitra to be as sweet a person as her voice.
