Here to find my peace again with my all time favorite song! Fan of Atif Aslam, but he frankly butchered this in Coke Studio. Gaaney ko sirf saans bhar ke keh daina kaam nai hota. Just close your eyes and listen to the original. The first effect it has is that of peace. An ultimate, trained qawwal singer decided to sing it quietly and deliberately creating waves throughout to highlight the lyrics. He could have shouted to show how he can reach high notes. But high notes or low, he carefully mellows it, makes it soft, contemplative, so that you focus on the message while feeling the effect of divine power on you. Yet, cuz Atif Aslam and Coke studio are popular, the original in all these years has under 900K views and the Coke studio version got over 12 million views within a few days. Still, the way the Maestro hauntingly comes down to the word "hay" at the end of each line gives me goosebumps!
