I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid in the 80's. Stephen Yan lived in Vancouver and his restaurant was in Coquitlam. I ate there a bunch of times, but only saw him there once. It closed down in the late 90's I believe

Hoisin sauce is actually easier to make than BBQ sauce. I’m sure he was joking when he said he doesn’t know how to make it. Stephen Yan was born 40 years too early. I remember watching this show for the jokes, but it must’ve influenced my outlook on cooking.
