Nice show! My parents owned a Carlton automatic like that GL at the start. It was one of the last ones 1986 2.2i CD. I got to drive it a few times when I passed my driving test and it was a delight to drive. Interesting history about the Monteverdi.

It was great wasn’t it? My dad had a 2.3 diesel in hearing aid beige but that was gutless, petrol was the one to have!

The Sabre looks interesting. I always did like the TVR Griffith 500. The Europa is a very rare sighting, perhaps even more so than the Jenson Interceptor. I've only ever seen pictures of the Monteverdi, what a fantastic looking car. Was that a Lamborghini Kalpa I spotted in the background or a Silhouette? Last time I saw either was Festival Italia a good few years ago. Love that Morris Traveler and spot that tray inside the passenger door. I spotted that Esprit Turbo reflected in the glass of the XR2, one of my all time dream cars. Nice to see the racing Puma. They cost as much as a Subaru Impreza which had a larger turbo charged engine and four wheel drive which definitely hurt sales at the time. I really like the Vitesse, and the Herald for that matter but that six cylinder engine and quad headlamps are a nice touch. Nice GT6 spotted there too. I've become very fond of the River P4 in recent years after having sat in one. That MK1 Jag looks great with those rear wheel covers. That BMC training vehicle is very interesting, never knew that existed. The 924S looks great. Sadly the lesser versions probably don't get the respect they rightly deserve.

The owner of the Monteverdi and the Lamborghini (Silhouette) was the same chap… now that’s a car collection! It’s also been featured on the Number 27 channel! Sad that the 924 aren’t appreciated by some of the Porsche community I’m told…

From Marina to Monteverdi..Sounds like a travelogue ! Loving the irony that the version of the Vauxhall Carlton is now practically extinct having been a go to choice for middle management back in the days of company cars. You can tell your grandchildren you saw one " in the metal" Simon !😂
