This was great Steven. Very informative, and I was amazed to see the bridge and the level crossing (these are few and far between these days). Look forward to Reading, as your getting nearer to my home town of Swindon, although I remember you doing a video here already.

@@Downthelinerail Yes, we are lucky in Swindon to have so much railway heritage remaining, although i think it was a shame to pull down the original station and replace it with an office block, but thats progress i guess.

Thanks Steven, I found that more interesting than I first expected! The footbridge is fascinating - I'd have liked to have seen the view from it. The story of the station café is another sad example of the big chains muscling out the local indepedent cafés. Personally I never use the chains out of principle - but sadly the train companies have to maximise their rental income, and the chains can afford to pay higher rents, which of course means higher prices for the customers.
