Another great reaction, Travis & Suzy! (sp? sorry for any misspelling) A song with a similar style & sound, from around the same time period, please give a reaction to Elvis Presley, singing, "Baby I Don't Care" from the movie, Jailhouse Rock. (black & white or colorized version). Thanks! p.s. Love that you watched the new Elvis movie! And love that you're learning & enjoying the Elvis journey, but just to be clear, the new movie by Baz Luhrmann got quite a few things factually WRONG. The more documentaries, interviews, video footage, reactions you do, and books you read, the more you'll be able to piece it all together, and determine fact from fiction, truth from rumor. Keep up the great reactions! Take care! 💜🤘🏼

Same thing happened in Milton Berle during the Hound Dog performance which cause such a controversy they wanted to ban him

Elvis was not "sent to" the military. He VOLUNTARILY joined the Army as a regular soldier, and came out a sergeant two years later (1958-60). I believe he did his basic training at Fort Hood in Texas, then was stationed in Germany, where he met his future wife Priscilla, who was the daughter of a superior officer on base there. He made it clear that he did not want to go in as an "entertainer for the troops," but wanted to be one of the "regular guys," pulling his own weight like anybody else. That was part of the heart of the man named Elvis Presley!

this clip is from the Frank Sinatra Show circa 1960. It was his first appearance since going into the Army in 1958 - and Frank Sinatra was arguably the world's biggest star (movie and recording). Elvis performed a duet with Frank and absolutely stole the show. Elvis would later star with Frank's daughter (Nancy Sinatra) in the Elvis film 'Speedway'. Elvis also sang Frank's best known song, My Way, numerous times and absolutely stole that song away from Frank.
