Yes, yes, the Japanese black hole. Once you're in, it will captivate you forever. I've been in there for 6 years and never want to get out. I especially hope you have fun with Lovebites. You're just scratching the surface of what is currently the best heavy metal band in the world. You already like the band, you will get to know every single character inside out, and yes, it is a miracle that they found each other, the core line-up was already outstanding, then the founding member, bassist Miho, unfortunately left the band, an extremely hard blow for the band and fans, what does the band do, gets up and looks for a new bassist and finds the absolute bombshell Fami, who gives the band another huge boost forward, I even knew Fami before (she has a 694k channel on KZbin) but would never have associated her with Lovebites or Heavy Metal, when I heard who they had chosen I was so relaxed because I knew that they had found the best possible replacement, she is not a replacement but rather bassist 2.0 Evo. For a musician, the chance of a lifetime, as I said, the band is Jedi level

Jedi level is right. The only two other bands I'm aware of that can match LOVEBITES for musicianship is Dream Theater and Symphony-X.

@@1970Phoenix Dream Theater are very good grandpas 😉 Lovebites has started the second fifth of their career, they are still developing, so if anything they are getting better, I don't know how that is supposed to continue, I was at that point two years ago, you can see how things are going with them, I only see one direction at the moment, look at their current output and their versatility, above all they use all styles, including Dream Theater and Symphony X.......... the list is long, they don't copy, they transform it into Lovebites, everything that I have loved about metal over the five decades of my life I find in Lovebites. Lovebites is the first band in which I really admire and adore every single musician, I am always moaning about someone in other bands, for example Metallica. I adore James, I like Kirk and Robert. For me, Lars is the spare wheel on the wagon (sorry... Lars can put on a show but as a drummer he's just mediocre, swap him for... Junna and he'll get an a...kick 😁🫡😀)

@@TheCyberMantis I don't think I agree. I think their current 5 to 7 minute long songs are perfect for the music they play. Of course I wouldn't have a problem if they did decide to create a 10 plus minute song, and I don't doubt for a second Miyako et. al. could pull it off. I just don't think they "need" to do it, and I don't think they will do it. But time will tell I suppose.

This song is an epic masterpiece. It's one of the band's progier tracks and it's melodic storytelling at its finest. If you like guitars, check out "Soldier Stands Solitarily" LIVE from the same concert - this also dropped recently and it's in their official YT channel. BTW, as part of their current world tour, Lovebites will be performing in the US this month (September) with 4 shows confirmed so far.

A masterpiece. They just have so many amazing songs, and their musicianship is elite. You mentioned the guitar playing. I think Miyako and Midori are the best guitar duo in the history of heavy metal. Their long, highly technical, dual guitar solos are without peer.

In Japan music is a significant focus in education including music 'clubs' after school, also families encourage learning an instrument, piano is common. The individual members had been in different bands and met at local music venues in the preceding years. When a prominent all-woman band Destrose disbanded, former member bassist Miho contacted former drummer Haruna about her ideas for a new band. Following the inclusion of Midori & Miyako on guitars, Asami, a cabaret R&B/Soul singer, former ballet dancer who also does backup vocals for big name acts, submitted a demo, auditioned including "Love Bites (So Do I)" from Halestorm which clinched her inclusion & the name LOVEBITES was chosen. I could type it all from memory, but their Wiki page is quite accurate and concise. Although founder Miho has withdrawn, the show on September 1, 2024 included 5 of her songs among the 20 performed. They have one '6th member' composer they collaborate with sometimes, Mao, aside from that all songs are written by the bands members, arranged by the band. absolute phenom this band is...since i discovered them almost 4 years ago i hardly watch or listen to anything else ... they just played a huge show in tokio yesterday and it was live streamed ooooooh my goooood they absolutely destroyed - i was blessed to see them a few weeks back on their european leg of the tour in a club with 300 wolves and i nearly sh*t myself ...keep going down the catalogue man -you will love every second of it !!!

Some one might'v already written this. When a legendary all female band Destrose (Destroy + rose) disbanded, the bassist Miho call the drummer Haruna to start a new band, and they call to their friend guitarist Midori and call Miyako as a support guitarist (she was active with two other bands), then they found the singer Asami through an audition. Regretfully Miho left the band in Aug of 2021, but found a perfect bassist fami after world wide one year audition.

These Japanese women are outstanding and so skilled and versatile musicians. Welcome to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. They really shine in their live performances. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. Those twin lead guitars by Midori and Miyako (aka M&M) are already legendary in just almost 8 years. Miho (exbassist and founder of the band) once said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. They’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. This song is an epic masterpiece with an uplifting and powerful message. My next recommendation is “Set the world on fire” (live). Some people say that rock is not dead… it just moved to Japan.

From emotional ballads to thrash metal with classical piano recitals thrown in for good measure, these ladies can do it all, and better than almost any other musician I have heard in 60 years listening to rock and metal. I am grateful to have discovered this group of beautiful talented young women. Recommendation for the next song, 'Scream For Me' live from 'Daughters of the Dawn 2019' ("OK Haruna, Give Me The Beat !") for a masterclass in syncronised guitar shredding from Midori and Miyako. It also has Miho, the founder of the band who left in 2021, on bass.

The impression is, that this fits her better than being strictly bound to a band like LOVEBITES and its schedule. Win-win. Fami: She had a self-promoted solo album and that KZbin channel. The genre was nothing like Metal, but that didn't matter (to the surprise of many who already knew her). She revitalized LOVEBITES and is a fresh smiling breeze for them, and LOVEBITES could continue conquering the HM world. Another win-win!

As you explore more of Lovebites catalog, now at 65 songs, you'll find a wide diversity in their songs.
