When you were talking about the end, I kind of took it a different way. Based on how you illustrated it, she was still wearing her clothes at the end and I didn't think he killed her because I didn't see any blood (I knew that the red was her hood). He also thought (I believe) about how he saw her before and wanted her. I interpreted the end as him trying to rape her, but before he did, his humanity kicked in. He sat on top of her, looking at the sky with that sad look, because he realized what he had almost done. He realized that he had almost taken advantage of the girl he loved when she was at her weakest. She lay under him in shock, frozen in fear, expecting the worst. But that's just my thoughts. I'm a bit of a romantic and I take detail very seriously, so it makes sense that I would interpret it that way. Did anyone else see it that way too?

I always had a VERY unusual interperetation of this particular animatic. In the end, I find it to be not unlike this: He has been stalking her, madly in love, but of course, wolf instincts, he wants to eat her. So, the animatic happens, and he's GOING to eat her, or to rape her, whichever you prefer. However, at the end, before he really does do anything, he sees her tears, and he just sort of sits up, she's in shock obviously because she thinks she's either about to die or have her innocence taken, but he stops before he does. And given the final line being "My red right hand has brought thee home..." I feel after that, he just sort of grabbed her cloak (in his right hand, if you want even more correlation) and carries her home. Perhaps he's even welcome after that, and fed (since he's so thin, he looks starved), and he ends up with the girl once she settles down.

ok so I have a couple things to say, 1: Life lesson, the sexier you are the more sympathy you get. 2: I saw other people commenting names for little red so here are some red related names: Scarlett Ruby Garnet Crimson names I think fit the charecter's appearance: Maple Poppy Amber Ginger Reed Epanine (like from Les Miseralbs ;p) 3: It's rare for me to take from others art to inspire my charecters that I have not yet perfected, but your art is amazing, I have a 'creepy' vampire-esc charecter I was trying to design (personality wise) and the wolf charecter helped a lot. Even though we do not quite know what his personality is, my take on this charecter inspired my own, so thank you! p.s it was the evil part of him that inspired me ;) 4: I don't see this guy as evil, as I witnessed at the end of animatic he looks as if he was regretting his actions, the way he was drawn in that moment it looked to me as if that part of him wasn't really 'him', it was to wolf instinct, the wild instinct inside of him that he has a hard time controlling. At the end when little red was on the ground in shock I don't think she died it was just a part of her that did, in my take I think they knew each other when they were younger, so she saw a part of him she had never seen before and part of that trust or relationship died.

when I first watched this, my first thought was that it's little red riding hood and the wolf. But as it went on, I started seeing and having this almost instinct that the wolf/guy was at war with himself. I felt like he was fighting for control over his self-conscious. I felt like his wolf side was trying to lure her into this false sense of security but his human side was trying to contain himself from hurting her and was also thinking that he may not be able to be around anyone else due to this. Close to the end, it seemed like he lost his will to hold on and was about to completely let his wolf side free. But at the end he remembered how pure and how innocent she is and how he couldn't just harm her and snapped back to his senses.

When I first saw the Wolf Song animatic I thought of a small backstory for it. A couple of years before "the time where Wolf Song takes place" Mr. Wolf was a normal guy who was fairly kind to people. .......Basically a gentleman..... He was good friends with Red but along the course of time he had been influenced throughout the beginning of his adulthood pushing him away from Red. All of that influence turned him into a metaphorical "wolf" who learned that he had a lust and hunger for his childhood friend (Red). So, by the time Wolf Song occurred in the timeline, Red had been wandering around the woods at night (or going to Granny's or whatever lol) until she gets spotted by Mr. Wolf. He makes his entrance and she's confused by his rugged and disturbing appearance. (Mind you, the "influence" changed his proper ways) At first Red is willing to trust Mr. Wolf since she's unaware of what he's trying to accomplish; winning over Red or getting her flesh and blood. But, Mr. Wolf doesn't know what he wants. He's in between his old ways and this bad influence that had been done unto him. So, as the song progresses, Red figures out what's going on. But it's too late since she's already let him in. Mr. Wolf is at a "high" at this point. But it begins to fade toward the end of the song. He's beginning to question his own behavior and stops himself before doing anything he would regret. {After video ends} So pretty much Mr. Wolf is disgusted by his actions and gets off of Red. Red is also disturbed but she sees that Mr. Wolf is regretting what he almost did. She knows now that Mr. Wolf is a work in progress and, with proper care and love, he can be "fixed". Mr. Wolf at first doesn't want to accept Red's attempt to make it safer for him to love. He fears the "wolf" in him would cause the same thing to happen. (Some more progress later.....) In the end, Mr. Wolf is happy with Red. But Mr. Wolf still has his inner "wolf". (Pretty much, the "wolf" represents an uncontrollable lust along with that "influence".) Wow..... that was long.... but yeah that's the way that I interpreted Wolf Song. :3 :3 :3 :3 :3

In fact that feeling gave me inspiration for my animated series the song that started the story of my series was true light from DN Angel and from then on whenever I heard a song more pieces of my story came together and even now it still is from different songs. It's often very hard to work on animations as a group. If you don't have experience leading teams, things can become hectic. You would have to wait on people who would have to do storyboarding or coloring before you could do your part such as lineart or shading, which could easily be postponed if they have something to do outside of animating, which is very likely to happen if you don't pay them because then they're not obligated to do the job. Along with the fact of not paying them, the creator would constantly have to worry about one of them stealing their idea, project or designs in the process. Usually animators tend to go solo on their projects because they'd rather be safe than sorry.

I have a good reccomendation. Before judging it, please read what I have to say. Song reccomendation: Shut Eye by Stealing Sheep Animation/animatic reccomendation: She's out in the forest delivering cOokiEs and gets lost. It becomes dark out. Ze wolf appears and chases her. This has a few moments & scenes and then she escapes at the last minute and reaches wherever she was supposed to be. It fits because when she gets there it's night "You should've got a better bed" "Better for your head" "Better heads need shut eye" I know it's a female voice singing it so that's sad but whatever but maybe there's a male version of the song

I have had the fortune to stumble upon your animatic video only recently and I am very excited to hear you explain the story through your own words - although others must have waited long for your interpretation. You seem like a very kind person to answer and explain the questions in the comment section. I've not seen your characters other than your interpretation of the story's characters, but it is fun to hear that people create names and back stories with them. It's sweet that you give them the approval and freedom to do so. Rather than a werewolf, I personally thought that his human form is a way for him to approach his victims with less caution from their side. I assumed he is dressed like a gentleman for similar reasons. In the midst of the dark forest, it is easier to trust a complete stranger when he is handsome, polite and well-dressed. It is unlikely that he would have let you leave his domain once you've stepped inside it - with or without the need of violence, but it seems to me that he draws his fun manipulating his victims. Similar to playing with your food. I am sure Red Riding Hood would be someone special to him though. He shows sincere remorse at the end, whether he raped or killed her (I honestly imagined both.). I hope you will finish the complete animation one day, but for your own sake as well. Since you stated that you're unhappy with the way it is right now, it will give you the opportunity to create a finished product entirely to your liking. Anyway, I look forward to your next work and will definitely contact you again if I have the time to complete a fanart. Thank you so much for your videos and the time and effort you spend on them!

the way you showed the ending it was kinda like she was damn scared and he was getting carried away and he accidentally pierces her vain but he remembered all the times that he used to watch her and stalk her and stuff so he stopped and didn't do it. neither killed her nor raped her. and i think that type of ending needs a continuation. maybe a happy love story or maybe a complex one where he's still confused about his desires. that would be sooooooo cool.

Glad we could encourage you. Not many people have the guts to make a real stab at any sort of really good animation/matics on KZbin, so far as I've seen. There's some, but it's a very difficult undertaking and most end up going straight into the animation business because hey! it actually PAYS. Long story short, loved the animatic, love your art, and glad we could give you a bit of a morale boost by viewing and subbing. :)

Yay! I'm happy you posted this. I've been watching your video none stop since I discovered it a week and a half ago (I think) Little red riding hood has always been my favorite story, and my interpretation of this is pretty much the theme of the original. Don't speak to strangers. However my interpretation all together is just the wolf taking advantage of a lost young woman, who is fighting with himself as to whether or not he should help her or eat her. I think he followed her with the intention of looking out for her but along the lines he realized it was also a great opportunity to eat something, and he remembers his true intentions. I wanted to let you know that I am truly inspired by your work. Which got me off my butt to draw up my owb red riding hood story (though not the same as yours). I'm always looking up red riding hood fanart ^_^ and was happy to come across your video. I wish there were more like it. Anyways keep it up and best wishes!
