I heard that the 4K footages taken in Sony FDR-AX40 cannot be read in FCPX. I wonder why and is there a solution?

All new Sony AX cameras record in XAVC S format and can be imported and edited in FCP X with no problems at all. You may wish to update your FCP X if you've not updated it yet.
