How is the dash cam ? Happy with it? Does it function as a rear view mirror when the cameras are off?

That’s the one complaint that I would have is that it does not function as a rearview mirror. Other than that another minor complaint would be that the quality of the camera in the rear has diminished over some time. Or my eyes are getting worse, not sure ha ha.

The wolf box g850 does. Just installed mine and works great as a regular mirror when screen goes to sleep or you turn it off 👍🏽

Nice video. Have you come across it draining your battery? Does it record when the Jeep is off? Thanks!

Hi Christian, that’s for your post. I have not noticed any battery drainage at all. And it does not record when the vehicle is turned off unless it feels a bit or a jolt. As soon as it detects a hit, movement on it, ect it turns on and starts recording right away to try to catch a face or a license plate. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.

It looks like you removed an existing fuse? I thought you used an open fuse slot or did you remove a fuse that was already being used. Thx

Hey Brent thanks for your post brother. I used an open slot. I just had to make sure it was one that drew power even when the truck was off. I hope this helps and if you have any others questions, don’t hesitate to ask

What fused circuits did you have to forfeit to plug in your 2 Wolfbox fuses, or did you find a spare always hot circuit and a spare hot with ignition circuit? Also, im puzzled about your fuses being 15 amp each. I just installed a G840S like yours with only the cigarette lighter plug that was included and it only had a 3 amp fuse! Also, do your fuses come in a fuseholder, there has to be a way to replace them if they blow.

Hi Jeffery. I’m going to answer these in order haha. I hardwired to a spare that is only hot when turned on. I think 15 amp is a bit of an overkill but that’s all I had as a spare, but yes your correct a lesser amp would do such as the lighter plug. Mine didn’t come with a fuse holder. I just used pliers. Keep the spares in a ziplock. I started off with the lighter plug and finally decided to order the wires to hard wire it bc I didn’t like the wires showing plus it took my plug away from phone charging. The hardest part was 1. Finding a slot that is only hot when on and 2 reaching up in there. I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask

Cool install , just purchased a Wolfbox g850 and loving it so far since the install . Only complaint is I have a 4runner and the reverse wire isn’t long enough to make it through hatch to my tail lights so I will have to connect more wire to extend it in the future if I want back up lines in reverse .

What an awesome video. I learned a lot. I noticed your hat was bill front sometimes and backwards at other times. Does this help with the install. I was thinking of adding a vhs to the 2500. Do I need a hat?

I’ve done the exact same thing. Clean install man. Only annoying part is when putting the Sun visor down. It’s hits the mirror camera so I always have to move it to the side and back when using it on a super sunny day

How does the camera know that you're in reverse so it can change the perspective of the mirror and show parking lines? In other words, how is it wired to the reverse lights?

Hey Tayler, their is a wire that runs right to reverse light. Super simple to set up and it comes with the tools to do it.

@@OJCoz Cool, thank you. I want to figure out how to wire it with my own switch so that I can set it to reverse manually if I want to. That way when I'm pulling forward, backing, pulling forward, backing...like when parking in a tight spot, the camera view doesn't keep changing.

I need help hardwiring mine. I have a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500. I would also like to keep it on the interior fuse box. Can you help? I’ve got 0 experience with the fuse box

Hey Jerry, first you need a fuse tester. It’s about 10 bucks at lowes and you stick the needle in the open slot of your fuse box. If it light up with the truck “off” then it’s one that is always on. If I remember correctly you want to find one that is on when truck is on and off when truck is off. So you just keep sticking the needle until you find the right one. There’s a little more to it but that’s the jist. The rest of the details will come in the instructions. I hope this helps

Oh yes I forgot about that! You can buy a conversion kit at autozone for a few bucks. I lucked out with the proper fuse size

Just solder it to the cigarette lighter cable with heat shrink tubing.

Each nick name competing with the previous one until the one ups collide in a montage video months later. My laser powered, Rocket driven, Gas guzzling, armed to the teeth, global comms capable, silver bullet of a '08 Commander approves. Edit: had to add gas guzzling. Now to finish the errands. Fill it up. run that last errand. fill it up again. drive home. And have to fill it up the next day.. Man you were not kidding in that one video.
