Good but there's better. It's basically several great arenas which great music then a decent boss which great story. And an ending which would have been perfect if I'd I hadn't also got new colossus that same Christmas. Also bj seems like he has plenty of time get away from the granade. Stab his hand then jump behind a pillar. He had like 4 seconds.

I like the stealth system because as you said it's optional. But it's also really fucking simple. I usually try to do stealth until I fuck up.

Finally, this game getting the attention it deserves. Where Doom goes heavy into gameplay and lore, Wolfenstein goes heavy into story and character (and also gameplay). It's more grounded compared to it's spacey counterpart, and it also manages to be bloody, gory and brutal with normal, ballistic weapons, something most games with guns don't have. Don't feel bad complimenting Deathshead, a competent villain is the most dangerous one, and are among the best kind, while also giving him more character. This makes up for his absence and is just another reason why this game is beautiful I also noticed you used Prey music in the credits (also composed by Mick Gordon and also an underrated banger) - could we get a Prey video in the future?

I really like the structure of this video where you talk about the effect a game has on the industry, before talking about the game as a game, finishing it off with the experience as a whole. Especially for stroy-based First person shooters like this, it's very well done.

Firstly thanks for this. Its amazing edited and your timing of memes and stuff is great. Secondly, this game was the first time i thought "This medium should be called something more than "videogame"" i had never been moved emotionally and so invested in a story like this. Being in the mental asylum, and hearing bjs inner monologue "sometimes summer, sometimes winter, sometimes birthdays and sometimes... nazis".. God i loved it. The gunplay, gameplay and artistic direction was second to none and i feel so blessed to have been able to experience it.

I'd say that the VERY first FPS to actually start the classic shooter resurgence was Serious Sam 3 back in 2011. It was the first classic action FPS to come out 5 years after Prey (2006); the last classic shooter of the 2000's.

I remember picking this up in the summer of 2018 during the steam sale and loved the gun play so much and you’re right that this game should get more attention. Picked up the collectors edition for wolfenstein 2 even the jacket and got Youngblood, hopefully wolfenstein 3 will be awesome

Finally this franchise is getting some love. Its odd how this franchise went from being legendary to being under so many peoples radars (except for Youngblood, that one deserves to go in the trash). Hell Doom (and Quake to a certain extent) have been getting all the love and attention while Wolfenstein is just left in the background. Wolfenstein deserves some love too. Hell it would be cool for BJ Blazkowicz to get in Fortnite (Although I think the best and perfect crossover for Wolfenstein would be putting BJ Blazkowicz in the next Mortal Kombat. As a way to celebrate 40 years of this franchise. Well that and having BJ Blazkowicz Interact with the Kombat cast would be awesome)

Wolfenstein isn't really movement based shooter imo. IMO Wolfenstein is basically an evolution of Half Life 2 style scripted shooter while Doom is an evolution of Arena shooters. In Doom , demons mostly shoot relatively slow moving projectiles and you need to get up close to glory kill and recover health so movement is really important. In Wolfenstein enemies have hitscan weapons so you need to get to cover and you find health pickups. Totally different kinds of game rhythms and structure. The Half Life 2 style shooter wasn't dead btw. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Resistance 3 and Singularity turned out to be Half Life clones.

Not a proper arena shooter but old enough with accurate hip fire, no weapon limit and hybrid fixed health to be fresh in that very stagnant time of 2014. Enough old to feel fresh and bombastic. New enough to be familiar to the cod bros at the time. With a stealth system which was still a novelty for linear shooters back then and duel welding to be a little more unique.

Haven't watched the video yet, so I might, and hopefully will, edit this comment later, but "saved the FPS genre"? Hardly. Look at current state of the genre and you'll see it is far from being saved. I love The New Order, but its impact was pretty contained. "Brought single player FPS games back to mainstream" or "Revitalized movement based FPS games", although not 100% true, is more accurate. Not so catchy for sure, but I get it.

It's the only Wolfenstein game which is forced wokeness & unskippable scenes. Replay value nearly zero. I reinstalled it after first playthrough 3 times, but couldn't get past first 2 levels because of the cutscenes. Reinstalled & deinstalled. Played all other games since RTCW ton of hours, not with this one! Gameplay and Graphics are great, leveldesign and fun too, but the cutscenes legitimately ruined the whole game!
