Actually, this was intended to be a yaoi manga, but for some unknown reason, those who made the anime didn't agree to do this. Of course, the manga had to be changed to suit the anime. But, fortunately (or unfortunately?) the fangirls liked the idea so much that if u wanna see a yaoi version, there are plenty, fanmade of course :) hope it helped
