Hi Jerry , and Kagen. That outside food prep area looks very nice. Did you think about some cover from the sun, and the rain. Love all of your Videos on new areas. The both of you have a wonderful day. Like to watch the feedings. Cindy

Well, that is much nicer for processing the feeding trays! Does the rock end up getting dirty as dust blows on it, gets tracked one, etc. And if so, what do you do? Will it wash away (down?) Also, do you think the "splash zone" is causing or at least contributing to your any problem? That whole area must smell like food and have lots of any-sized bits being replenished every time you process. Maybe a shield to contain the flying debris would help? Good stuff. You guys are great, always look forward to your videos, Thank you!

Hope you do a bit more shade for the albino cages to keep eyes from burning and them not getting sunburnt in the hot sunny days there .also like somebody said make a over hang so when you guys are processing you have shade

Looks great but maybe needs a roof to give you a reprieve from the sun or rain while standing there butchering meals. A few minutes of shelter like that can work wonders during a hard days work. Throw in 2 deck chairs and its ideal to sit for lunch and watch the animals

In Canada we can cut hoses and buy links to put 2 hoses together. im not sure if you can do that in the U S? you could put a tap on the side of the building and have 2 hoses a short one and a long one that should work for you better then MAYBE, you need to sharpen the knife?

Jerry I just wanted to stop and say how much I enjoy your videos I’m more of what they call a lurker because i’m not in the comment section all the time I love how your videos have been almost like half building which I love and then half feeding training, etc. etc. which is always good and today’s February 9 which is my birthday happy birthday to me. Yay but keep it up. All the videos are very entertaining and educational at the same time Kagan (I’m not sure I spelt that right) love for the animals and her training with the monitors are crazy. I’m surprised she hasn’t gotten bit with a grumpy monitor, but she’s very patient and Persistent.

Hey Jerry&Kagan, It's great to see you making headway on all the things you've been wanting to do. Just in this video you checked off 3 of them, the tractor, the feeding area, and the gravel moving, I have also been inspired this weekend, mainly because our forecast here in Toronto, Canada has been, SNOW, SNOW and more SNOW. Yesterday here in Toronto, in about 3 hours last night we had about 7, maybe 8 inches, which now seems like a lot. Years ago here in Canada that would be an overnight flurry. Then a snow storm would be 1 to 3 feet overnight in Toronto. It's been about 15, 20 years, since Canada started seeing the effects of global warming, and this weekend seems to be a reminder of what it used to be like. I'm not a person who loves the cold, but it is beautiful to see, for a day or two. Good thing you didn't get this there. Oh yeah, My inspiration this weekend, a restructuring of my turtle, Pepita's, enclosure. Nothing major, new gravel on the bottom and filtration out take placed in a different spot. I rent a place so she unfortunately is an inside turtle, Trachemys Grayi grayi. They are Costa Rica, Nicaraguan Sliders, my first turtle. I've had her now for a little over 4 years. So putting her outside isn't something possible to do because even in the summer it's not warm enough for her, and, I can't really tear up my landlords garden for her. I plan on getting a Dumeril Monitor after my wife is here and we get our own place. Not sure how she'll feel about that, Hee hee hee, but she loves Pepita, she actually named her, so I may have made some headway with reptiles, turtles, snakes, I'll have to see. So I might talk to you in the future if you keep a breeding pair of Dumeril's? Anyhow, Just dropping in to let you know I'm happy seeing you get things accomplished there. Keep it up, it looks great. Cheers, Matt - Toronto, Canada

The back area is looking good! It sort of reminds me of the place on a lake when we had a fish cleaning area. We had a used wheel(?) or wooden spool the phone company used. It came to me today watching the animals down such chunks with no effort, if I could do that imagine all the Krystal burgers you could down! 😛

It’s the circle of life. Also, I’ve fostered and kept rabbits as pets for decades. Many babies don’t make it, that’s why evolution has allowed them to literally “breed like rabbits”. There’s no suffering at their property, it’s natural selection that’s all.

Great video as always, question about the albino’s? Looks like they had some issue seeing the food? Now i know that albino’s can have visual issues. Have you seen a big difference yourself with the non albino monitors? Do they get more shade because their eyes can be more light sensitive?

Wait!!!!!!!!! Weed barrier is not real. Lol I know it's already too late buddy. Be mindful that roots of weeds that blow into your rock do not care about your weed barrier they will send roots through it and make it impossible to get the tap root, if it has a tap root, out breaking off at the geotextile. Cutting the fabric to access soil and root or herbicide is the only way to rid the weed. Anyhow, just some advice from a landscaper maintainer

I stand by my comment but realized you were using it as a geo textile to seperate materials not necessarily as a weed barrier
